Not quite as bad as advocating strict gun control in the land of the Second Amendment.

/why yes, I am going to keep running with the "Gun control proposals are going to hurt the Democrats (and therefore the country) in 2014" theme

Did anyone else do a double-take at this part of the article?

TFA: The Green Party has also fought an image problem over its tolerance of paedophilia, a shadow hanging over the party which it is still trying to tackle.

What the fark am I reading?

Check it out.
Until 1987, the Greens comprised a faction involved in pedophile activism, the SchwuP short for Arbeitsgemeinschaft "Schwule, Päderasten und Transsexuelle" (approx. working group "Gays, "Pederasts and Transsexuals"). This faction campaigned for repealing § 176 of the German penal code, dealing with child sexual abuse. This group was controversial within the party itself, and was seen as partly responsible for the poor election result of 1985. This controversy re-surfaced in 2013 in the context of the pedophilia activism of Daniel Cohn-Bendit, and chairwoman Claudia Roth stated she welcomed an independent scientific investigation on the extent of influence pedophile activists had on the party in the mid 1980s.

Are frankfurters actually native to Frankfurt, wieners to Vienna or hamburgers to Hamburg?  I'm sure you can find all three in all three places, thanks to McD's etc.

Pretty much, yes.

Meh, its a retarded policy (as vegetarianism is a retarded habit), but blaming their downswing on it is silly.  The Greens got a big bump because the krauts public is not very fond of nuclear energy and fukushima happened in a politically expedient time.

A better policy would be forcing German canteens to serve decent food once a week so that perhaps the people of the country could develop a pallette that does not call any seasoning more than salt "zu scharf"

Do you know who else was a vegetarian?

Well not really but it makes a good story.

2013-09-14 11:12:35 AM
I just spread my vegetarianism out and make sure I eat a non-meat food every day.
