If this was 1997 we'd have to fear Carrot Top as Batman.

I don't know, we found some collective love possibly for the Robocop reboot after hearing the story angle.

Why don't they save some time and money and tie a cape and cowl onto a sack of feathers?

Welcome to every fark thread about crappy comic book remake movies.

Stick around for the inevitable " .... okay, against better judgement I paid to see it on opening night.  Holy fark, what a piece of shiat.    Words can't describe how disappointed I am.    MAYBE I'll buy the Blu-Ray, but not on release date.  No way."   followup.

The only reasons I'm going to go see that movie are Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman. There's really not much reason to go otherwise.

Likewise, that's worth the 6 buck matinee and if it's good well than that is just extra butter for the sauce then

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan either... but Batman was the bomb in Phantoms.

Then don't. It's the only way to stop them from making remakes that no one asked for.

This is what Ben does, He likes to get franchises on a rebound where they are much more vulnerable and offer them solace to which then makes them more open to suggestion to which he then uses that to fark them in a fairly uncomfortable place.

Aging, weary but still able to kick ass? Seriously, the more they talk about this movie, the more I wonder why they didn't pick Ron Pearlman.

Affleck always seems like a frat boy. He can't help it. It's not going to work to well for Batman.

Not that I give a shiat. Batman ceased being interesting about 25 years ago.

Not me. I'm buying a ticket for a different movie and hopping.

I think people are getting "tired and weary" of batman these days, so this seems like a refreshingly honest depiction.

How is it different that The Dark Knight Rises? Batman = tired and weary

STFU already until the movie comes out.

Geez.

This fanboy butthurt is so bad, it can be seen from outer space.

Val Kilmer actually was decent as Batman, it's just that his movie was total clownshoes. Now George Clooney as Batman on the other hand....

And in year one he's a stupid noob. There are lots of incarnations to draw from, any of which are perfectly valid (not sure I've ever seen a rookie Superman with an aging batman, however) . The main point I'm trying to make here is that this movie will not be good because of the character's overexposure.

/Also because of a boring Superman with no personality
//And Ben Affleck
///And Zack Snyder

It was a fantastic B-movie, saw it with friends at a drive-in

/better than Superman Returns, which was the other feature at the time

Came here to post this, etc. Just wait for everyone to be bunching their panties when Robin is cast as a somewhat geeky teenage girl.

I like Affleck. I'm not sure how I feel about him as Batman, but I will say that the only good part of Daredevil was a scene where he is standing in the bathroom, reaching for a huge handful of pain meds, scars all over his body, and wearily sinks into a sensory deprivation chamber.

Really a great scene showing the toll his lifestyle was taking, and hopefully something they explore in the next Batman.

Honestly, there was a lot wrong with Daredevil, but Affleck wasn't one of them.  He actually made Murdock way more interesting than he should have been.  A guy who is capable of so much, but has to pretend to be led around by his goofy friend all the time and be vulnerable to everything.

He did a good job.  The problems arose from editing, budget, studio execs being studio execs.

Not disagreeing with you, but DAREDEVIL did have at least 1 other redeeming feature:

Yes, because ninjas do so well in pleather and high heels with a big, fat, metal belt buckle.

All he mentioned was how she looked in the costume, and he was right.
The red version of it was the single good thing about Elektra

ArkAngel: Val Kilmer was excellent as Batman

I agree... That film was a critical and financial success.   I think people have rewritten history, lumping it in with the George Clooney film, as it was done by the same director.
