give me doughnuts: mjohnson71: varmitydog: My weird niece is now 27. She has now been in this "phase" for 14 years. She legally changed her name from Lisa to Morwenna, dyes her hair black with a blue streak on the side, never goes out in the sun if she can help it and is whiter than Casper the ghost. She took a job fixing hair and doing makeup on dead people and usually only works at night, alone in there with them in the funeral parlor. She is finishing up school to become a hospice nurse, because she says she wants to watch folks die.

Her folks are Church of God of Prophecy (Holiness fundamental folks) and she is some kind of Wiccan.
Leastwise she believes in witchcraft. They do not talk.

I liked her when she was young and I like her now. She's got a good heart.
Besides, it's a southern tradition to have someone strange in the family.

Sounds like she needs to start this show back up.

Orlando is much more sinister. Tampa's Goth scene is lame.

I have trouble believing that a location with some of the greatest beaches would have a large goth community

Jennifer Aniston was fashion.

No.... That's a vampire baby.

Goth did NOT have that crappy vampire makeup in the 80s. That came in the 90s after The Crow, Interview With the Vampire and Vampire: The Masquerade.

I was what eventually became known as goth back in the 80s. We looked more like Allison from The Breakfast Club. The stupid makeup was the result of non-goths trying to one-up the originals.

Gotta love the Goth snobs, almost but not quite as bad as the nerd vs geek snobs.

Snob or not. That is correct. I'd also add that the whole depression, cutting and basically everything South Park makes fun of started late 90s early 00. I was goth, and I had a blast. No tattoos, no piercings and no make up. Now-a-days I swear most of the goth kids want to be stand ins for KISS

I had to look up rivethead to figure out wtf you were talking about. Since when did the industrials stop considering themselves goths and start calling themselves rivethead? Back in the day I remember the ones I knew just called themselves industrial goths and some would say shiat like they dress industrial with a bit of "rennaissance goth" (Medieval) influence. Hell my ex wife was one. Granted this was in the late 90s early 00's but still.

It was funny seeing some of the goth kids at my 25th year high school reunion. A few of them were still doing it, most had become "normal" while one had become a complete bangin' hottie. I guess staying out of the sun for a number of years served her well as she looked 32 (or even younger) instead of 42.

The lead goth dude from our class is now an orthopedic surgeon.

Unfortunately they let the actor who played Teatime get away with the "Johnny Depp as Wonka" voice. The actor seemed to miss the point that, except for his eye, Teatime appeared and acted perfectly normal, right up to the point where he stuck a knife in you.

Maybe not "perfectly" normal. Just barely enough off-kilter to make you slightly uncomfortable, but not the whack-a-doodle he was playing.

Still an enjoyable movie, though.
