And the list of upcoming sequels that should have been made a decade or more ago continues.

/Bad Boys wasn't quite a decade too late, maybe 7 years
//Tea Leoni has great gams

I'm assuming the scriptwriting process for that was taking the existing scripts for the original Bad Boys, Miami Vice, The A-Team, Taken, Transporter and Fast and Furious movies, packing them in a box lined with grenades, detonating them and then hiring 42 "script supervisors" to scotch-tape the shrapnel together?

I'm feeling kind of funny...

I would admit Bad Boys featured the best Tea Leoni has looked on film (she hasn't looked that good since), it was also a pretty decent actioner. What it didn't need was the sequel it got, which felt like a rejected Lethal Weapon 3 script. Now we gonna get what? Old man Will Smif doing his tired schtick and probably driving a Lamborghini on a cop's salary? And Martin Lawrence hopped up on coke sweating all over the place?

So...just to be clear.

We're okay with Bruckheimer...but not with Michael Bay, who directs, frankly, quite a number of Bruckheimer produced flicks? Is that what I'm getting?

Which role will Depp play?

Smith doesn't live on his cop salary, He has a trust fund.  Martin Lawrence mentions that no less than 6 times in both movies.  One of the annoying things about it.  Otherwise, they were both dumb, fun action movies.  2 was a bit over the top, and the "buddy cop" thing is getting old.  It doesn't need a third movie, but they were alright.

It actually works more like this. The scripts are torn up and then taped to the foreheads of various hookers and producers, a mountain of cocaine is then placed in a room with the hookers and various producers. Then at the end of the night the assistants come through and collect and see which scripts have hooked up with other scripts and place them for future editing.

Dammit you are right forgot about the trust fund bit. But maaaan that's some stupid, forced justification for having bling on your film. I bet any amount of cash from MY trust fund that Smif had a hand in putting that shiat in the script.

Screw Will Smith, bring back Sean Penn & Ally Sheedy.  They did the original laugh-riot back in 1983

I'm not. I was kind of scratching my head over why this is "spiffy."

I liked it better when I rewatched it at 30 then I did at 18.

Same here. It was a visual eye candy, and Martin Lawrence and Will Smith were both great. Yes, over the top, but it was the perfect popcorn movie. No thinking involved, just enjoy it for what it is.

Arrg, I hate that shiat. You forgot to say "check your brain at the door".

Now he just needs to do an Action Jackson 2, and his trifecta of movies about mustachio'd, wise-cracking black cops with be complete.

Nemo's Brother: I want this hack to go bankrupt.

Don't hold your breath. Between Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, The Rock, Crimson Tide, The Bad Boys flicks, and all the CSI shows, he'll be getting checks for the next three lifetimes. Plus, Bruckheimer actually saved his money, unlike his partner who blew it all on hookers and cocaine.

I doubt Beverly Hills IV will ever see the light of day, because 1. Eddie Murphy just isn't a draw anymore, and 2. Axel Foley would have been forced to retire years ago.

Bad Boys III will definitely happen, though. I'm just worried they'll kill off Lawrence in the first half-hour and then team Will Smith up with the department's hot shot rookie, Jayden Smith.

Whatever.  I watch Bad Boys 2 because I start to drool all over myself anytime Gabrielle Union is on the screen.
