You're missing half the fun.  A solo ride is great but sometimes working with a partner can be more interesting

Heh, the sentiment reminds me of looking for a job in the time between graduating high school and waiting to go off to college (graduated a semester early):

Parents: "It's been two weeks and still no job. We don't care if you have to work the overnight shift at McDonald's, a job is a job!"

Me: "I've put in applications all over town this week, and I put in an application at the sex toy shop today-- they're hiring."

Parents: "You're not working at a sex shop!"

"We pay for high-tech companies, we pay for low-tech companies, we pay for convention centers, we pay for hotels, and now we pay for (sex toys)," Finney said. "Is there no limit to the welfare state?"

These stupid farks don't know what a welfare state is, do they?

Tax credits for businesses to move are bad policy.  If they'll pack up and leave for your credits, they'll pack up and leave for somewhere else's when yours dry up.

How about we just stop giving tax credits to any corporation for setting up shop. Yah jobs are great but there is no need to subsidize a for profit entity.

It's not part of the targeted industries that JobsOhio typically invests in."

What?  You don't invest in manufacturing?  Your typical vibrator is made out of plastic and a motor.  Change the geometry a big and you could be cranking out neck massagers.

If that was my kid: "Sure.  Great!  Go get a paycheck.  Just park around back so's no one can see your car from driving by.  And if someone comes in - in that case they can't very well try to shame you for working there without being asked why they were shopping there."

There's a huge environmental aspect to this, too. Nobody wants to be around when the molds break and 10,000 tons of molten polyvinyl chloride goes all Pompeii on your city instead of being formed into useful and popular Mule Tamer 5000s

Pure Romance is a Multi-Level Marketing like Amway. It won't bring jobs just seperate fools and their money.

Cincinnati isn't trying to get Pure Romance to move there. They're expanding, and moving their HQ from Loveland (heh) which is a suburb of Cincinnati, and in Ohio already, to the downtown area. Pure Romance is threatening to go somewhere else if they don't get the tax credit for their expansion. The city's credit (which was bigger anyway) still stands. At issue is the state's credit.

I still hate Pure Romance.

They said I was "Too Vanilla" to work their in an IT position. I told her my Pets and our Mistress would get a kick out of that, and might not bother hosting 25 parties a year anymore.

/Was too late to change my mind on the deal though

Well, yes. I never said they were a great company. A friend of mine got involved with it a few years ago. All she got out of it was several boxes of unsold sex toys and a good bit of debt.

So a few dozen jobs for Loveland that suck the rest of the country dry? Why do they need tax breaks? It isn't like some manufacturing plant bringing hundreds or thousands of jobs it is a few bean counters for a MLM.

The future is in remote-controlled vibrators. Network-ready wireless vibrators. The type of vibrator a woman won't know is in her until it's too late.

Hit a button on my vibrator app, Level 1. B*tch goes into a panic. What just happened? Something is wrong. I'm in a business meeting. Did anyone just feel that? F*ck that feels good. I need to use the bathroom.

Level 2, keep that on for a while. Wait a few minutes, then just slam that sh*t up to level 8.

Wait...what are we talking about?

I enjoyed working at a sex shop before I went to college. There was really nowhere else to work, and since most everyone were god-fearing white christians, the sex shop was actually hiring. Didn't go over too well with my parents, but they were hounding me about getting work.

It was way out the middle of nowhere where the land had to be cheap and there were no schools (or much of anything else) nearby to piss off the locals. The building was nice and air conditioned and really well-maintained.

The conversation with my parents was a riot.

"You hear back from any applications yet?"

"Yeah, I have an interview tomorrow."

"OMG that's great! Why didn't you say something earlier?"

"Because I didn't want to have this discussion."

"What? Why?"

"It's at the sex toy shop."

"... you can't work there, you're a girl."

"Girls have sex too."

"Yeah, but only guys go to sex toy shops and they're all creeps."

"I have a vibrator. It didn't just appear out of thin air."

"... but you can't work there. Work someplace else."

"Noone else is hiring."

Of course mom dropped the subject and I got hired the next day. The boss was a fat alcoholic who often didn't show up at all and just left me the keys to the shop. He had massive cirrhosis and when he did come to the shop he'd piss all over the toilet seat and his urine was a bright farking orange color. I had to clean the bathroom every time he showed up at work, but whatever. Money was money and he didn't give me bullshiat.

Eventually he got bad enough he stopped coming in and his wife came in for him and I kind of had to show her how to run the register and do the stocking and what have you. The real funny part was when some church congregation decided to buy up the worthless tract of land next to us and built a church youth center there. And once it was done they spent every subsequent year filing some bullshiat lawsuit or grievance against us because there were children at the youth center or whatever. But the boss had a decent lawyer and more or less shot down every cease and desist order since we were here first and they chose to build their church and youth center next to us.

And we all knew they did it on purpose, so they could do this kind of bullshiat litigation. If they can't slut shame the sex toy shop out of the city limits, they'll just build a church next to you and start whining to the judge that their special god-fearing snowflakes have to go to church next to a sex toy shop.

I worked the night shift and it was just amusing that the same ministers/pastors/whatever who were filing lawsuits to get our shop closed down were coming in there once or twice a month buying some of the most bizarre stuff. And yes, the 'patriarch' of the church was really into gay porn DVDs. I figure he was too stupid to know how the internet worked, otherwise it was always worth it to see the awkward look on his face when he'd come in to buy the gay porn DVDs. He was always expecting me to speak up about noticing him running the ministry next door, but I didn't. I was always a professional and very discreet and only gave him a smile and told him to have a nice day.

According to the guy who worked the day shift it wasn't any different. I think the churchgoers next door were one of our biggest customers despite the fact they were trying to shut us down.

farking hypocrits.
