He should have bought the extended warranty.

Did they go to a marriage counselor and ask questions and the counselor had no idea about anything and was no help at all?

I'll turn out the lights.

If you're making payments for years on something you bought at Best Buy, you might be doing a lot of things wrong.

...and I should have bought Best Buy stock last year when it dipped to $12.

He might have been helpful if he could speak more than a few words of English.

He might never have had to pay that divorce settlement if only he had purchased a few Monster® Cables.

2013-09-12 10:05:45 AM
They're expensive, but adding Monster Cables to this will make it sound better.

That's what happens when one of the guys from the Geek Squad is your attorney.

Wonder how many people they fired to get that kind of "cost savings" ($390 million).

I'm sure the divorce is the reason he's dumping stock...

But was he nagged in to marriage by some teenager in a blue shirt and tan slacks?

"This is the best chick to marry. I've probably sold three or four of 'em today. Never got one complaint. No. Reliable but you'll still want the warranty"
"If you go over to Wal Mart, they got the cheap wives from Chiner. Gonna look a lot worse and the quality just aint there"

Or was he met with ambivalence and disgust?

"I don't work the Wives Department. I'm usually over in Whores. These are the Wives. They're all pretty good. I guess."
"Wives? There over there. There's a guy there that can help ya."

Why would a successful man ever, ever get married?

Did he catch his ex using Geek Squad?

Should have looked at Best Buy but purchased on-line.  That's what all the savvy CEO's are doing to find there wives

So, no prenup? I don't think I trust a guy to run a business if he's wealthy and didn't have a prenup. Some cashier in Kansas City, KS is about to leave the company with a million dollar golden parachute.(*)

*Golden Parachutes are a stockable item but they hide them over by the Water Conditioners

Also, if you are paying their full retail price without getting them to match the online one, then you are definitely doing one big thing wrong.

Or he knows the stock is topped off and is unloading it.

/should have bought some months ago, but I know they are still going to tank

He should have just looked at the Best Buy marriage and then gone to buy one online at Amazon. It's cheaper, and he wouldn't have been required to have the marriage delivered to his local Best Buy store.

I've had no problem with the soft drinks and candies I bought there.

FTA: "Best Buy CEO Hubert Joly has led a turnaround at the company that's sent shares soaring"

I've not stepped foot into a Best Buy in 5 years.  I think they're a crappy peddler of crappy product.  Is there any reason I should now, or is that "turnaround" just a Wall St. one?

Turnaround means "taking a company that was losing money and makes it profitable".  It has nothing to do with the quality of the product or service made by said company, per se.

He had to get permission to sell the stock from the board. And his divorce is happening in France and will most likely be more expensive then if he got married in California.

No, no. You should keep acting like they suck because you're too good to shop there and because you think that the products they sell are any worse than Amazon's or your local boutique electronics shop that no one else has heard of.

Good. You deserve a divorce and much worse for helping run one of the most dishonest electronics corporations in North America. Pay your employees better wages, you filthy bastards.

Never had an issue with Best Buy.  Ever.  Same with most people I know. I just assume people who biatch about Best Buy will biatch about any little thing or don't know what the fark they are doing.

Nope. Lots of people aren't smart enough to buy the same or better product for less money on newegg. Best Buy wouldn't be in business otherwise.

Guess he didn't have a gold-plated Monster penis.

Not sure if the headline works.  I mean the electronics they sell aren't any different than electronics from any other place.  Sony, Samsung, etc.

The issue with Best Buy tends to be the customer service, or lack there of.   And the prices on most things.

2013-09-12 02:56:00 PM
Let me clarify I know I mentioned price, but the headline implies it's broken crap product and not "the same product you'd get anywhere just at a 20-50% markup"

Best Buy price matches Amazon and you don't have to have shiat delivered to the store if it's in stock.

If you can't pay off something with 18 months of no interest, I don't know what to tell you.

trappedspirit: Are we hating on best buy now?  Let me guess, I am the only person in the universe that has never had any problems with any purchases from them.

I never have. They price match with the internet, give me great 0% deals on my Best Buy credit card, when the price went down on the D7000 camera I bought there by $100 more than a month later, they credited my account the difference, and when my daughters ipod cable broke, the geek squad employee just gave her a new one, no questions asked. Plus the rewards Zone rewards points can add up pretty quickly and get us free stuff.

Did customers finally wise up to the fact that "out of stock" and "on sale" are synonyms at Best Buy?

I did when I got a new house. Two 60" Sharp TV's, 5 Bowers and Wilkins in ceiling speakers, a new receiver and install of everything. Ran about $6500 with a 24 month 0% interest deal. I had it paid off in less than a year, but we spent so much on everything for the house, it was nice being able to only pay $600 a month for it and not worry about interest.

Badreligion:how are the in ceiling speakers treating you? I always like mine on the walls... check out pawn shops btw...cash america if u can. Bought a 1 month old vizio 60" LED for $500. Got it home, called vizio and bought the extended warranty. Cash america is the best because of their non standard pricing and 30 day return policy... love my B&Ws.
