They really farked it up this time.

Meh.  I've been kicked out of classier joints than that.

Mumford can stay but the kids have to leave.

2013-09-12 09:05:17 AM
Oh come on now.  Nothing like a rousing banjo melody in every farking song that sounds practically identical to every OTHER farking song they've ever done to keep people awake!!

/I think I just murdered the English language with that sentence...

I don't understand all the hate.

They put on a great live show.

Of course the strippers do. The club owner just thought Mumford et al would be jealous.

Because people now know who they are.

A "strip" club doing karaoke night? Do they mean "strip mall" club?

The Clermont Lounge isn't just any "strip" club, man.

Old Crow Medicine Show does that shtick a whole lot better.

It's the Clermont.

That's all you need to know.

Agreed.  And so do plenty of other people.  I don't get why the kids love the Mumford & Sons so much.

If you're unable to discern the difference between Celtic influence versus Southern Americana influence then your ear is as tin as they come.

They're different shticks.

Ow!  My mandolin!

It is adorable, though, when posh kids discover poor people music and they think they're Alan Lomax.

We'll have to agree to disagree my friend.

Still don't get the hate.  They're somewhat bland and inoffensive, but Fark seems to love pooping on them.  Most of the rage seems to focus on their fans, even though the haters are much more visible than the fans.

/Briefly enjoyed them, quickly tired of them.

I forget which thread, but someone referred to them as a "jug band" which I found amusing, anyway...

Done in one.

I can't even imagine how much of a douchebag you have to be to get kicked out of the Clermont.

Didn't they, my dear?

Haters better move on.   Mumford was the new Avett Brothers.  The Lumineers are the new Mumford.  Houndmouth will be the new Lumineers.

A pretty bad one, to be sure.  I do remember they have a "no pictures" rule.  But that is because the club got tired of replacing lenses.

It's good to see Peter Dinklage found that cure for dwarfism.

Damnit. That's what I get for not scrolling down.

They got kicked out of a strip club in the most boring way possible.  Can you imagine telling that story to your friends at work on Monday?  "Wait, that's it?  You wouldn't put your phones away?  Umm..."

This band has supernatural powers of boring, as evidenced by the fact they are yet commercially viable.
