He wish he could quit the band.

If he doesn't get married at the YMCA he has no soul.

2013-09-11 02:49:22 PM
He wasn't gay until he joined the Village People.

His boyfriend is kinda young, and Jersey-looking.

He's still a cutie.  I wish the couple well.

You can't stop the music!

And here I thought he was such a macho, macho man. =(

Yes, he is, subby, but not all of them were.  They were hired as actors and cast to play parts.

If that surprises you, we probably need to talk about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny as well.

Which village are these people from?  Sounds fabulous.

Now I am starting to think that the headline may not have been tongue-in-cheek.. Y'all did know he is gay, right?  Please tell me you weren't surprised by his marriage to another man..

I thought he was marrying Joe Francis.

When I saw Village People headline, I thought this was going to be the story I submitted twice yesterday, getting redlit both times. It was an article about how Victor WIllis, the original cop from the Village People, managed to reclaim a piece of the songwriting copyright for "YMCA" away from the record company, using a legal argument that the record companies are pretty pissed off about.

I submitted it with the headline "Rogue ex-cop seizes control of YMCA." I'm still mildly peeved that it didn't go green.

Awww. What a cute couple.

I just love it when old queens find true love. Awfully dusty in here.

That's pretty gay.

Looks good for his age (which I assume to be somewhere around 60-ish).

Mazel Tov!

OK, scratch my previous emotional outburst. Apparently they've been together 20 years, and they got "married" (not legally) in 2004.

Sorry. Mere formalities are not enough to choke me up.

He still is. I guess at his age he isn't getting more than a softie, does that mean his twink mantoy is the "top"?

Good for David Schwimmer.

How about a hot Italian Sausage?

The cop once tried to take my bag of pretzels when I was about 15. At the time, I didn't know about the Village People, but if I had I probably would have given them up. This was behind a bar in New Jersey.

Yeah, and I can't believe Liberace was gay. I mean, women loved him. I didn't see that one coming, no.

What if gets the use of an aircraft carrier or battleship?  It may be fun to stay at the YMCA, however when you could have the seven seas in the Navy.....

Did anybody ever make a comedy film (or perhaps a skit) "documentary" about a 70s disco band that made blatantly homosexual references in all of their music, but insisted they weren't gay, nor were they trying to appeal to gay listeners? It could detail the song titles, phrases used in the songs... then ask the members more pointed questions about the places they played and such...

I think about a 15 minute skit would probably be downright funny without dragging on too long.

Well, they're apparently having a massive 3 day party that you're not invited to, does that choke you up?

I always ran under the assumption they were all gay.

What no witticisms about "huckleberry"?

Young man, there's no need to feel down.

I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.

I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town

There's no need     to     be     un    hap  py.

The biker was the straight one.

I always heard it was the lead singer that was straight, and all the others were not.

/the bigger question is....why are we debating the gayness of the Village People?

Bonus-  one of Carnack's best one-liners:

"May your only son be locked in a steam room with the Village *People*..."
