The early morning blast targeted a building that once housed the U.S. Consulate under the rule of King Idris, who former Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi overthrew in a 1969 bloodless coup. The explosion caused no serious casualties, though several passers-by were slightly wounded, officials said.

Dear God, they got the building one of us was in once decades ago.

Do you want to do that?

I guarantee you, when you are worried about getting gassed to death you're not worried about what the new Iphone can do.

You're trading on the same old "backwards foreigners" trope that's been poisoning American foreign relations for decades. It's okay, though, you're definitely not alone in that thinking. Tech is worldwide, the resources to purchase it not necessarily so.

Sorry I've travel the world I know exactly what is out there. And frankly America is behind in serial ways. My Lithuanian credit card has security features that would blow your mind.

However, I'm not talking about stupid foreigners! I'm talking about people in a damn war zone! How is that so hard to figure out?? If I made that crack about Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Qatar maybe maybe you could project some kind of "stupid foreigner" attitude into my post.

Every time you step up to the keyboard you're faced with a choice.

Do you post pictures of hot chicks? Or do you facefark the thread with derp until mascara streaks of talking points trickle down it's soiled chicks?

Do the right thing.

Well, here is the deal. Chances to post hot chicks are getting few and far between. And the "Powers that Be" don't like it when you randomly post stuff like that. And frankly neither do I, you really need to stick to a theme. I like posting IDF girls in Israel threads. You know stuff like that.

And I'm not the one derping. I make a simple off handed comment about how a place that has been bombed (and gassed) back to the stone age isn't worried about phones and phonebooks and a few people take my snark as some attack on the culture of an entire region and its people.

FTFA:....successive Libyan interim governments have failed to impose law and order. The country remains held hostage by unruly militia forces initially formed to fight Qaddafi. The militias, which have huge stockpiles of sophisticated weaponry, now threaten Libya's nascent democracy. Car bombs and drive-by shootings since the end the civil war routinely kill security officials in Benghazi, the birthplace of the uprising.

I'm sure Syria will blossom with unicorn farts after we bomb it though. I don't have any regrets about Libya--this was going to happen either way there. But I think there's a better choice here.

Do they have maps though?  Lots of US Americans don't even have maps, and it might be a plausible alternate explanation to their mistake.
