10) Glenn Beck: Anyone who thought Beck was finished after he left Fox underestimated the size of his vision. He has 7.5 million listeners to his radio show, his website The Blaze is the 4th largest conservative news site, and The Blaze TV is incredibly ambitious. Beck might not have the biggest audience, but he has some of the most passionate fans out there.

This is why you fail.

Can't really argue with this list. John Hawkins is right on the money for once.

2013-09-11 09:47:38 AM
That list makes weep for college professors who have to explain to young Poli Sci majors that a conservative thinker isn't someone making the rounds on Fox News or is even alive.

One of the 25 most influential conservatives couldn't hold on to a job writing for Maxim. Just think about that.

It must be excruciatingly embarrassing to be a conservative these days.

2013-09-11 09:51:29 AM
Dammit!  The fact that it is a list should have clued me in to who the author was. I am so ashamed.

One would hope that such a list isn't almost all lobbyists, wash-ups, bankrollers, and broadcasters.

I think it's interesting that there are only two actual current politicians in the top ten.  And only seven on the entire list.

I'm trying to find analogues on the left for these guys. Here's the best I got:
1. Olbermann (though he doesn't have anywhere near the following Malkin has, in terms of passion and derp)
2. Mika Brezadjbgoubfoabaibnifbn*train whistle*zinski (who isn't the host of Morning Joe, and isn't nearly as "liberal" as Gutfield is stupid conservative)
3. Paul Krugman
4. ...the guy that runs Media Matters (not Soros, you knuckleheads)
5. Randi Rhodes?
6. Rachel Maddow?
7. SOROS!
8. either Schultzy or Sharpton (I'm not sure who I like less, Sharpton or Hannity...)
9. Alan Grayson (and I apologize for comparing him to her)
10. Perez Hilton
11. a quasar of derp (seriously, I got nothing for him, and Al Franken's a real Senator now)

It's highly unlikely that the GOP will even be able to take the Senate in 2014, and as favorable as the election is for the GOP in 2014, they face a number of tough races in 2016 in states where Republicans represent Democrats (Maine, New Hampshire, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, et. al). Furthermore, the GOP has resigned to nominating people like Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock, who lose in the general election.

Furthermore, there is no evidence of any momentum to the GOP national ticket in 2016. None of the prospective candidates, even ones with good name recognition, are beating Hillary Clinton.

In Georgia.

I didn't mean any one of those three, meant all 3 happening.

Just not going to happen.  Especially the fillibuster-proof senate... that would be flipping the senate from a Democratic majority to 60 GOP senators in 2 cycles.  Good luck with that.

[notsureifserious.jpg]

You do realize that Republicans have not won a national popular vote since 2004, and that was the only one since 1988, right? Not only that, but Democrats received more total votes in House races last election than Republicans, and it's only gerrymandering that gave Republicans the majority. They might take back the Senate in 2014, since they have a much easier slate of elections that year, but there is virtually no chance of them keeping it in 2016, as well as maintaining the House majority and taking the White House, the demographics just aren't there, and the voter suppression tactics won't do enough.

2013-09-11 10:24:38 AM
Palin is #3? PFAHAHAHA.
Palin does nothing but "Give me money so I might maybe one day run some time! Okay maybe next time!"

Rove is #4? Facepalm.
Rove has no credibility anymore. What, exactly, is he influencing?

While Boehner technically has an influential position, he is absolutely horrible at actually exercising any influence. He has no control over his caucus.

McCain? Really?

I'm surprised this captain of derp didn't put Romney up there, along with Stan the Libertarian Captain of Industry, assistant manager at the local Costco.
