(YouTube)   Clearly the master of his domain, WHAS sports anchor drops 41 Seinfeld references into one report. Definitely overwhelming ... just like the effects of Beefarino   (youtube.com) divider line 36

I don't remember a sports anchor in the movie Wet Hot American Summer... was he cut from the flag football scene?

I got about 10 seconds in to that before I had to shut it off.

People under 35 should not be news anchors nor should they be traffic cops.

Calling Smith a "modern day Lloyd Braun" was my favorite.

Didn't watch enough Seinfeld to get the references.

2013-09-11 09:11:41 AM
So he had nothing to say.

Traffic cops aside, how much gravitas and professionalism should one display while reading the scores of games?

That wasn't as forced as I expected it to be.

/not a Seinfeld reference
//the female anchor needs non-fat yogurt

That was real, but not spectacular.

I'm pretty sure that day in-day out it's just as boring a job as any other. They're just making their own fun. Nothing wrong with that.

A little to forced to me...

I can't find the video, but after MCA's death Jay Onrait spent a whole show dropping Beastie Boys lyrics. It was an awesome tribute.

/Damn you FSN for taking him from us

You know that one xkcd comic about how making Monty Python references is, well, tedious and played out?

Picture it right here with 'Monty Python' crossed out and 'Seinfeld' written in.

I never understood why anyone watched that show. I tried to watch it a few times and realized it wasn't for me.

I'm glad someone could include their hobby in their work.

Next thing, you're going to complain about Airplane, Spinal Tap, and Holy Grail references.

Or were you just airing your grievances?

Reminds me of a joke.

Guy goes to prison. On his first night, he hears inmates yelling random numbers "45! 14! 8! 96!" After each number is yelled, the entire cell block laughs hysterically.

Come morning he asks his cell mate what it meant. Cellmate explains that each number represents a joke too lengthy to yell at night, so everyone memorizes the jokes and corresponding numbers.

Come night fall the new guy yells out, "17!" Nothing but silence. "86!" Silence again. "4!" And again, silence.

Next morning the new guy asks the cellmate what nobody laughed.

"Some guys just can tell a joke."
