This picture is so beautiful. The confusion on her face so perfectly expresses every misgiving I have about the fad of 30-something parents shoveling belatedly-marketed crap from the terrible media of our youth onto the new generation of young'uns. I know this is Star Wars being shown, but we're shoving GI Joe and Transformers down their throats when they were shiatty cartoons to begin with.

Remind me again...which Star Trek episode had land speeders?

The one with the Daleks.

I wish I had kids so I could live vicariously through them and be considered a hero for it.

GI Joe was probably shiat, and the Transformers cartoon was pretty crappy when I went back as an adult to watch it... but to be fair, as a 5 year old, it was a pretty awesome show.

That said, if you were *ever* a fan of Transformers... the comic book series based on it wasn't entirely horrible and more recently, the updated "Transformers Prime" series is not too bad for a kid's show.

My nephews both love Transformers (the new iteration), and I hope my daughter (or future son) will enjoy them as well because we'd have that in common, plus a have a ton of the G1 series toys in a chest waiting for them when they are old enough to either appreciate them, or understand their collectible value.

Not planning on cramming it down their throats either way, but if you see some of the shiat that's on TV these days for kid's programming, the original Transformers series isn't *that* awful in comparison.

I think it would be better this than, say, Akira.

definitely not FotY and certainly not HotY.  but off camera dad is probably feeling a little haughty at this "achievement".

that's a lot of hate coming from someone who used to worship either a purple retarded dino or a spunge with pants.

She could not be less interested... Her hands aren't even on the wheel! I wonder what she thinks it is... Probably a poorly crafted surfboard, or a giant sandal or something.

I never got something like this when I was kid. It was a banner year if my old man gave me a carton of cigarettes. Smoke up Marky, he'd say, and then he'd yell at my mom to go make him a turkey pot pie. Good times.
