Asking the crowd to sing along doesn't work if you take your sweet time.

Okay, US. Time to fight hard and win this sucker. Mexico should be in disarray. You should exploit that.

Anybody know where I can stream on an iPhone?  Just downgraded my cable package and it cost me WatchESPN apparently.

2013-09-10 08:07:03 PM
I know you like the last-minute drama, Ian, but just the once tonight, can we not? Unless it's a last-minute goal in Honduras that secures our berth.

2013-09-10 08:07:47 PM
Nice, I didn't see this. Let's go USA!

Might be the only guy rooting for Mexico, mostly due to seething hate for the US national team. I blame ESPN Deportes' stupid decision to switch La Liga coverage with MLS back in the early 2000s for a year or so. Still bitter about it. That and the perennial over-ranking of the US.

From my experience with Mexicans at soccer games I think they're all very nice people with an awesome team. Please don't kill me nor my family. I'm going to just walk away. Ow, that was a glass bottle. Please stop attacking me.

Just missed it. How bad was it as bad as Italy's epic diving header own goal back in 2006 WC?

Both require Flash.

I did, however, find univisiondeportes.com.  Completely legal, too.  Woo!

As of the last ranking release, we were on a 12-game winning streak that included sweeping our way through a continental championship and winning in Bosnia with half of our best team. And we were ranked 19th. Suck it.

With Bedoya down, I thought for a split second it was a PK, then it panned to prone Dempsey.

If half of Europe got to play the dreg that is CONCACAF, I'm pretty sure most of them would come out with a streak equal or better than that. Beating Bosnia, while nice, is hardly a famous result. They won't be close to making the World Cup.

I just want to say what a pleasure it is to listen to Sir Ian Darke.

And Jermaine Jones is a pile of crap

How did the Belgium game go anyway? 4-1 loss wasn't it?

Beckerman is very lucky not to go in the book for that. It was ugly.

You mean the team that's tied for first in their group with a massive goal differential advantage through 8 of 10 games?

2013-09-10 08:24:50 PM
US really lucky not to get a card there...

Incidentally, I haven't followed qualifying much outside of the US and a little of Europe.  Is New Zealand any good or should whoever CONCACAF sends there have a good chance of advancing to Brazil anyway?
