Hello Farkers! I'm Paranoia-'. I currently run the TotalFark Secret Santa and Secret Cupid programs. Secret Santa has been a TotalFark success for 8 years; now, with the help of Teriaki, feckingmorons, and Frickinsweet, for the first time ever, we want to bring some of that fun to the you, the Fark Liters!

Welcome to the first annual Fark-It-All Candy Swap!

You can sign up for this site-wide swap by going to FarkItAll.tk* and filling out the questionnaire. You MUST have been a Farker for at least 6 months, or be a TotalFarker that joined TF prior to September 1st.

*For reasons unknown to me, some browsers, particularly FireFox, seem to have trouble with .tk links sometimes. Typically if clicking it doesn't work, manually entering either farkitall.tk, www.farkitall.tk, http://farkitall.tk or http://www.farkitall.tk will work. I'm sorry! I don't know why it hates us so!

If you aren't sure how a swap works, it's pretty simple: on October 1st we will e-mail all signed-up participants with their randomly-generated partner's information. Included in that information will be their allergies, desired gifts, and anything else they feel you should know. You'll buy and send a gift, then wait for yours! Hurray, that was easy! If you're worried about shipping or privacy, hold your horses. We'll get to that in a moment.

Because this is Halloween-themed the preferred gift is candy. Ideally we'd love for people to be sending unique and local candies, something you can't run down to the market and buy. That is not a requirement, however. Whether you send candy, something Halloween/scary-themed, or an LED shower head, your gift is appreciated and awesome!

INTERNATIONAL FARKERS, DO NOT FRET! I know this can be particularly difficult for you but we want you to participate in this with us! This is an American olive branch, extended to our brethren the world over, hoping to unite all Farkers, if only for a month, over their love for giving and getting gifts. So, for that reason, we have come up with a couple (hopefully) helpful options for you. If you are a Farker in the US sending to another country, consider Priority Mail International® Large Video Flat Rate priced box. Price varies depending on where you are sending it, but you can get it to Australia for about $23. That's a 9-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 2" box, with a weight limit of 4 pounds, guaranteed delivery in 5-7 days. There are also regional candies available on Amazon. As an example, I'm a HUGE fan of Crispy M&Ms. Unfortunately they are no longer available in the US and the beautiful blue wrapper has been repurposed for Pretzel M&Ms. I can go to Amazon, however, and order genuine Crispy M&Ms from Europe and get it shipped to my house for free. The downside to this, of course, is it limits the options available to you. We're still researching other options and will keep you updated as we find new choices for you. Anyone with information on international shipping into or outside of the US, please share it so we can include it in all future posts.

Non-US Farkers - if you don't want to send outside your country, that is fine! Just select "No" on the international shipping question in the form.

Anyone worried about privacy: we strongly suggest you go to Amazon and create a wishlist specifically for this swap. The purpose is two-fold: it will allow you to have some control over what you receive, and will allow you to keep your address and information private.  For more information on how to keep yourself private, click here. Please, for the love of Christ, don't have your wishlist full of $80 and $90 items.

If you do not have a wishlist, please understand that you may receive anything, at all. There are some strange-ass Farkers out there.

Rules and such are liable to change at a moment's notice. This being our first Fark-wide swap we are trying several new tools to hopefully make this a pleasant experience for everyone. We may have to add, remove, or modify options or rules on the fly to keep everyone safe and happy.

The Powers That Be are aware of this and approve of it, but this is NOT Fark-run. We are just four TotalFarkers bringing a little more weirdness to the world. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the Swap, please e-mail FarkItAll[nospam-﹫-backwards]kraFdnoyeB*com, and/or visit our HelpDesk. (This is one of our new features, introduced last Christmas. We are still working to make it as smooth as possible and welcome any feedback or suggestions!)

Alright, guys. That's the gist of it. This post, or one like it, will be made several times over the next month. We try to vary the times it is posted as we know that different people prefer to Fark at different times. Every time we post an official thread we will be around to answer questions or concerns as best we are able. If you're lost, confused, or unsure about anything, just ask!

Love and Hauntings,

Paranoia-', Teriaki, feckingmorons, and Frickinsweet

I see you have a "What do you want?" section.  What I want can only be purchased from a vending machine in Japan.

Taking candy from strangers over the internet is pretty much everything my parents and GI Joe told me not to do growing up.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the Annual Halloween Scary Story Swap. The only thing I'll lose is sleep.

Will we need to put razor blades and needles in the candy BEFORE we ship them, or should be just include them for the receiver to insert at their leisure?

re: keeping an amazon list private
The link cited above does say it makes your wish list private, but doesn't clarify if its your home name and address that's kept private, or if it just that the list becomes only-you-can-see-the-list private...

So how do you keep your home details from being displayed?

/or perhaps I'm just clueless and mis-read whilst eating lunch?

I really, really, want to ask for something like my favorite Light Chocolate Opera Creams at Esther Price (I miss Ohio)

But they're expensive and that'd be greedy. I'd settle for Kinder eggs :P

I want to do this, but i want my gift to be a surprise, so the amazon wish list doesn't work.  Do i take the risk that some crazy psycho has my name, address, and fark username all linked together?  I shall ponder this over some trolli brite crawlers.
