flaminio: Bring it. I bought "Forever" stamps back when they were 42c. I've already made ~10% on my investment.
jimpoz: So the stamp costing 2¢ more would make people less apt to send a greeting card and more apt to send e-cards, but the greeting card's costing $3.99 wouldn't?
Nuclear Monk: I'd hate to think of what kind of message I would get in a card that cost LESS than $3.99. 'Happy Birthday' doesn't come cheap.
Sugarbombs: Does anyone actually pay attention to the price of stamps when mailing a personal letter?I could see dentists shying away from sending out those 6-month checkup cards and the industry possibly taking a hit from that, but stamps could be a buck and I still wouldn't care. Christmas and birthdays are the only times I mail letters, anyways.
limeyfellow: MAybe they do better lobbying Congress to remove the rules that only apply to the post office for the sheer purpose of driving them in debt so they can destroy the post office. You know like have to put aside 50 years of pension money for every employee hired in a fund that can't raise interest, to the lovely they must turn over the most profitable business over to Fedex and UPS.to deliver. Then they wouldn't need to raise stamp costs because they would be solidly in the black again.
