My favorite part was when Rivers threw the touchdown that tied the game, to the Texans.

That was a glorious game to watch....seeing and hearing all the asshole chargers fans around here moan and wail was the highlight of my day....

10 seconds after the game came on I actualy thought "aw shiat, I'd rather have Joe Buck" but it turned out not as bad as I dreaded.

I was going to laugh if the Eagles lost, but this one was just as good. Added bonus of the East Coast falling asleep to Burman's droning voice.

Great game. For anyone but San Diego.

My unsolicited thoughts on the Texans.

-I'm glad we have Ben Tate. Arian doesn't look like his old self.
-I thought the defense would put more pressure than it did. Maybe that was by design? No Antonio was probably a factor
-Andre!
-Matt!
-love him or hate him, but Kubiak kept the team cool during the 21-point deficit
-Hopkins' catch was a thing of beauty
-11-5 or 10-6 sounds about right

As far as the Chargers are concerned, they may be the 2nd best team in the division

I went to bed when it was still 21-28. Had my phone in my hand refreshing the sports app to get updates. I saw the interception, TD, yelled, woke my girlfriend who hit me in the shoulder (but then said "Yay!") and immediately passed out.

Gotta agree, felt great seeing that score first thing in the morning.

The roughing the center thing was one of the areas that officials specifically went over during pre-season, telling players that "this is the rule, we will be calling it, so don't do it".....I can understand not liking the rule itself, but the players were made abundantly aware of it beforehand...

I didn't see the play, but I know that it's a call that exists on the rulebooks.  You never see it because teams usually aren't stupid enough to do it, it's very easy to avoid.  Is there video of the play?

Rivers will wear it as QBs have to, but there were several balls that were catchable that the WRs just didn't pull down.  One late, the guy got two hands on it but dropped it.  resulted in a punt when had he caught it, granted it it would have been Charger ball at their own 35 or so, meaning even then a score isn't guaranteed, but you gotta catch the ball.  you get two hands on a ball you have to make the catch.

Once the Texans stopped the run in the second half and they were able to free up safeties and LBs to cover the pass and play dime, Rivers fell apart.  Take away that initial INT and the 4th down stop in the first half and Schaub and the Texans O had a nearly perfect night.  Those long 3rd down conversions are something Texans fans aren't used to.  Typically it's a screen pass that goes for 9 when they need 15.  I don't know the last time the Texans were perfect in the Red Zone, but they were 3-3 last night.  Hope Arian looks more like himself next week but Tate seems ready to take over if he doesn't.

yeah, i noticed in both games, both Ds at times rushed 3, which i thought was a bit of a slap in the face to RGIII most, but both teams were basically dared, based on the coverage, "we know you can't run on us, now beat us in the air".

Mike Pereira @MikePereira 1h After seeing that shot they showed, it is clearly not a foul in my book. He did not attack the head or neck area. Very costly call. Expand Reply Retweeted Favorite More"

Also it was pretty funny (not at the time) to hear anyone try to explain the flag, especially Gene Tunney when he was put on the spot. He had no idea either, and just kinda rambled until Berman bailed him out:

"So, it could have gone either way then?"

"Uh, yeah"

Honestly, I was expecting us to get blown out, and it came down to the last play. Sucks, but the Texans are WAY more talented at this point. The Bolts did everything they could, but ran out of gas, and if it wasn't for an incredible read/INT by Cushing, I'd be a lot happier, but there's a ton of positives if you're a Charger fan.

He's a great 3rd season guy, uhm, I'm sorry, 3rd round draft pick, a local guy, uhm, the refs are placing the ball at the 39 aaaand they are lining up for another play, uhm, Rivers back to pass and he throws it's going down the field aaaand it appears to have been broken up instead of caught?"

About midway through the first quarter you could hear it in his voice he realized how hard it was and started to settle down and not talk so much, but he just kept rambling, ending the sentences with a silent question mark, it was odd and distracting.

I really hope we don't have anymore of these MNF double-headers this season - I don't think there are any more. Dilfer/Boomer was excruciating to listen to. Between bumbling Boomer and Dilfer's constant coach-speak rambling, it was right up there with Dennis Miller as one of the worst announcing decisions ever made for a national broadcast.

/I still think Tim Ryan (AKA - The Walking Just For Men Commercial) is probably the worst announcer out there and they put him and Matthews on just about every Seahawks game.
