nice work

I originally expected this to be about bath salts - now mice on bath salts would really be something

"There have been, unfortunately, mice in the building on occasion," Murphy said. "I wish I could say there was a 100-per-cent way of not having them come into a building. St. Therese (seniors villa) is located on the edge of town right next a farmer's field so this is a time of year with combining, the mice are starting to move around."

Yeah, my house is right next to a field, too, and mice are kind of unavoidable. But I'm not sure the presence of mice is what's the problem here. I've had dozens of mice in my house at once, but I've never had a mouse try to eat my face while I sleep. I'm not sure how you let the mice get brazen enough that they start nibbling on your patients.

/they might want to invest in a few cats

expected bath salts, find it's old people home with rodent issues

/close enough on the crazy scale?

In the mice's (meece's?) defense, the lady didn't object once they started nibbling, so they figured she was fair game. Mice are omnivores.

A mouse nest was found in the woman's closet, Azocar said.

that's some nice housekeeping work they are doing.

This is actually one of the reasons it's not recommended to feed live mice to captive snakes. If the snake isn't hungry, it will ignore the mouse, and the mouse can eat the snake alive without the snake really trying to do anything about it.

But I've always assumed that was sort of an act of desperation on the mouse's part, because it's trapped in an enclosed space with a predator. I wouldn't expect them to just waltz up to a human and start gnawing away, at least not without MAJOR warning signs.

So, wipe out rats in Alberta and mice simply evolve to fill the niche.

My God.
If I cannot defend myself from mice eating my face because I am immobile and mental, PLEASE SOMEONE KILL ME!

Why should anyone have to live like that? That is horrible.

She had dementia.  They probably got tired of asking her the ultimate question over and over...
