He'll turn up in Atlanta a few days from now without an explanation or an apology.

I bet we can split the $30-million reward if we just pay the $3,000 transaction fee (which we will be reimbursed for)...

Start of another Islam versus Christianity skirmish?

Interesting response from his church - not what I would have expected.

Hello Esteemed Sir,

I represent the family of His Holiness Ignatius Kattey, Archbishop of Nigeria. I am in possession of $30 Million US which  belongs to his family but due to Nigerian financial regulations I am having trouble getting those monies to their destination. I heard through a mutual contact that you are a person of excellent character and trustworthiness.

Anglicans aren't exactly Pat Robertson Ministries.

I've had nothing but bad experiences with Delta/Northwest.  One time, they cancelled my flight due to ice on the wings and just said "Come back tomorrow."  I received no compensation, no apology, not even a coupon for a free drink.  Nothing.  When my mom came to visit me in Japan, her Delta flight was delayed 5 hours, meaning we missed the last bus to my city and had to take a taxi, which was around $200.

I flew United on one of my trips to Japan and it was a smooth flight with friendly flight attendants.

Delta sucks. Put them on your list and draw a line through it.

Guaranteed he missed his first connecting flight, and Delta did NOTHING to help the situation.

I hope he was kidnapped by GAYs.

The Anglican Church of Nigeria thinks homosexuality is "a perversion of human dignity."

US Episcopalians (the US name for Anglicans after the Revolutionary War) are generally gay friendly except for some bigot congregations who have left the Episcopalians to form the  Anglican Church in North America,  and acknowledge the Bishop of Nigeria as their leader.

There have been a number of incidents in the US where an Episcopalian congregation becomes Anglican then they get kicked out of the church building because it still belongs to the Episcopalians.

I'm afraid there's been a mistake. The man who has been speaking to you is an impostor. He is not in fact the Bishop of East Anglia, but a man wanted by the police. I am the Bishop of East Anglia and anyone who doesn't believe me can look me up in the book.

Since the entire Anglican Faith was formed to allow Henry VIII to marry as many times as he liked.......meh.

Henry also changed how Knights were appointed.  Before his changes, they were appointed by The Church so they were Knights of Saint Foo and the royal presided over the ceremony as the most Sr of the Knights. Henry started the conecpt that a King could Knight people directly.

Henry created Anglicism to become independant from Rome and so that there would be no earthly power he had to answer to. He declared the King of England to be the Supreme Governor of the Church of England which means that church officials including the Arch-Bishop serve at his whim. The Roman Church had become independent from European monarchs and had become their spiritual superiors. The Anglican scheme is more like the Eastern Church where its leaders are subservient to monarchs.

Today, in the back pages of less reputable magazines are Knighthoods for sale. As a result of the European Union unbanning catholic knighthoods in England, like the Knights Templar, there are princely fellows offering ancient chivalric titles, much like the guys from Missouri who claimed to create a new nation called the Republic of Texas a decade or so ago.  Or the guys down the road who burn crosses and have all sorts of zany titles.

I don't think that the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church considers herself "subservient" to the President of the United States.

It started as a crass political move, but over time it took on characteristics of Lutheran and Reformed theology, and Catholic liturgy under a common rubric of worship. It spawned Congregationalism, the Baptist movement, the Methodists, the Salvation Army, and countless major Protestant movements.

But yes, the C of E is an established church nominally headed by the Queen, Defender of the Faith.
