The products are formulated with a glaze that contains egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label, the company said.

I prefer unglazed chonies.

Lorelle: I prefer unglazed chonies.

Speaking of calzones and, to a lesser extent, chonies:

A couple of years ago when I was in Rome, I noticed the menu at a particular restaurant that, like many places in the touristy areas, had the menu not only in Italian but also "translated" into English, or at least, some Italian concept of what English might be.  I had to snap a pic of their menu, below, because of the way they translated "calzoni" into English as "pants":

Until now, I had no idea how they came up with "pants" for "calzones."  But after your post, I finally remembered that, in Spanish at least, the term "chonies" is actually derived from "calzones" ("pants"), so I guess it must be the same thing in Italian.

"Calzones" is Spanish for "underwear" in many brown parts of the world.

In Google Translate, the word "calzoni" translates to "trousers" in Italian.
