Or, you know,  just don't it ever because you are not a scumbag.

Just saw the revenge porn episode of Newsroom this week. I hope this girl can learn from seeing Olivia Munn deal with it.

Posting on a site like that has "be a scumbag" as a pretty much given prerequisite.  But yeah, don't be a scumbag.

2013-09-09 10:19:16 AM
Yeah, people who do this are terrible people, and already violating the law.  I don't know why you'd think they'd stop short of minor porn.

2013-09-09 10:20:28 AM
No no no! I disagree!

/I have never taken nude pics of myself or girlfriends and I will never do it because of this type of dumbassery
//but I'll gladly look at others' pics!!!

Since in most states there are not laws preventing revenge porn (his included), he was not breaking the law. Of course he was being a spiteful scumbag, but unfortunately that's not illegal.
Ladies, if you don't want your nude pictures posted online, don't take or allow nude photos of yourself to be taken.

I didn't know if I was more shocked by how horrifying those scenes were, or at how good munn was in them.

Sad thing was her character can't resolve the problem, and kicking his ass doesn't make it even

See, this is where Kodak/Polaroid are missing a real marketing opportunity. They should be pimping the virtues of the instant camera (ie, privacy; no electronic file, no photo processing necessary, so the pervs at Walmart or Walgreens don't get an opportunity to run off copies of your girlfriend).

Now, sure, you could still scan a picture and turn it into an electronic file, but I doubt most dudes are going to go to that kind of trouble.

Also, the people who should be really angry about this are men. Probably more women would do the nekkid photos if they were sure they wouldn't ever go public.

You're only hurting yourselves, men. As usual, you're your own worst enemies.

Out of all the women I have dated that have sent me nude pictures/videos I have only ever thought about posting one of them and that is because she is just such a horrible person.

Or you know, don't let pictures of yourself naked be taken. I never understood the reasoning behind wanting naked photos/videos. One day your kids will stumble upon them whether from curiosity or cleaning out your house after you die.

Maybe we should all just go naked.

And?

It's not like a mature adult can't understand the fact that at some point their parents got busy with each other.  It's not something you want to find but it really shouldn't be a life altering revelation and it's not like you have to inspect every photo or watch all of the video.

There are many way worse things to find in your dead parents attic, nazi uniforms, KKK robes, adoption papers, a dead fetus, etc etc.

It can be a neat way to keep the home fires lit when you can't be together.

The problem arises when the relationship is a temporary one (breakup/divorce) with one partner feeling jilted or when the pictures/videos are otherwise compromised (phone or computer contents revealed to others in any form)... even an otherwise happy and committed couple can have such things get out into the open. Thus, it's best to not allow them to be taken even though there might be a legit and useful purpose for such things.

Is minor porn a major porn violation?

New rule of thumb: If a picture or video is taken, it will wind up on the internet.

GIS for "revenge porn" is quite entertaining and certainly NSFW.  In some instances it's not even SFV, period.

So as much as I think the guy is a scumbag - the rest of the article talks about making it illegal to post "revenge porn."  How would you prove that it was for revenge?  I mean some chick could consent to the posting of her picture and then suddenly say she never allowed it to get back at her ex....

Ha one of my teenage memories was finding a Polaroid of some girls snatch while walking around in my neighborhood.  My friends and I ended up putting it in some random reference book in our school library.  Curious whatever happened to it.....

"She is a minor, and the pictures were very very provocative and he did take the pictures and he did possess them,"

the wording and complete lack of clarification make me wonder if the pictures actually fit the legal definition of porn, or just the overzealous cop definition.

See, "some girl's snatch." Not "a girl I went to school with," but "some girl."

Unidentifiable. You want to leave yourself some plausible deniability in case you ever run for president. If you don't want to do just the crotch shot and decide to go for the arty full-body,  I recommend a mask. Reagan, Clinton, Obama, whatever turns you on.

Assuming that your parents die at a normal age of say 80 years old, yeah it's kind of a big deal not knowing that your medical history has no actual resemblance to your genetics.  There is nothing wrong with keeping it a secret when you are a kid but at some point people need to know.

So What? Found the naked Polaroids of my parents when I was about 10. Put them back and went on with my life.

Have several pics of my current girlfriend naked and some of us having sex. Would never put them online. For the douchebags out there consider this. If this girl knows your friends and social circle it could get out that you share naked photos. That severely limits the chances your next girl will let you take them. Be smart and keep them to yourself

I thought models must sign release forms for any pictures of them, not just nasties, to be used publicly?

Shouldn't that rule apply here?

Or is that just for those used to make a profit?

I found a refund check for a failed abortion.  Thankfully that was 6 months before I was born so it must have been my older brother.

Funny how some guys make fun of rape when it happens to women, or downplay it, but let it happen to a scumbag in prison, and it's the end of the world with them.

No written release? No posting. Subpoena the sites, demand an immediate takedown, and sue the poster. As long as we're stuck with the DMCA, might as well use it.

/A real cold scumbag would post it from the girl's own phone or PC, as her posting her own work implies consent, but that takes a level of planning most angry scumbags don't have.

The thing is, the site itself is making a profit off of them both through advertising, and by charging $200-500 to remove the photos. The site needs to be liable, too.
