"Farkers, it's bin good t'know ya!"

His full name is Edmund Bacon Fitzgerald, and he helped form the Brewers. Bacon and Beer, it is a good thing this guy was born before the internet or none of that would have happened.

The lyrics of "Stairway to Heaven"  fit nicely into "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".   I searched for a youtube version but it doesn't seem to exist.

This is left as an exercise for the reader:

<accent' on the 1st and 4th beats of the 6/8 time of the E.F>

There's a lay'-dy  who knows' all that glit'-ters is gold' and shes buy'-ing a stair'-way to heav'-ennnnnn.

etc.......

Sing loud!

AccuJack: I laugh when I hear that song.  The lyrics:

"The captain wired in he had water comin' in And the good ship and crew was in peril "

Capt. McSorley's actual last transmission:

"We are holding our own"

Also... the ship is in 530 feet of water at the top of the hull.  It was 728 feet long.  So it's too bad it didn't stay in one piece and stand on end... there'd be 200 feet of hull poking out of the water.  I think that lake could sink an aircraft carrier in 50 feet of water if it wanted to.

I love posts that start off with "I always laugh at ___, because..." because you know the person is desperately trying to put a light hearted spin on something that just annoys them to no f--king end.

*A-hem*

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down of the big lake they call Gitcheegumi
And the old chiefs still smile and chuckle awhile cause the white man is really quite screwy.
You see he took a big boat and set it afloat and said boys we'll cross the big water.
Load her up to the top with them rusty red rocks and boys, she'll float like and otter.

The weather got rough but the men they were tough no cellular phones they were dialin'
they looked all around for to run her aground but they couldn't find Gilligan's island.
So they held their breath and they sank to their deaths and the priest rewrote his liturgy
About the dumb guys who gave up their young lives for the great cause of metallurgy.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down of the big lake they call Gitcheegumi
And the old chiefs still smile and chuckle awhile cause the white man is really quite screwy.
