Too bad those kids with cancer died 9 years before he was able to get them the money to go to summer camp.

I should be a millionaire.

I LOVE Glacier Park.

Nice going Mr. Hiker.

It took him ten years? That's barely one a month. It doesn't sound like he's particularly committed to this quest.

Cancer in the process is the worst kind of cancer.

I'm pretty sure I could jump in 168 lakes a lot faster than that.

Can't people do cool/fun stuff like this without embellishing it into a mini-charity?  "Yeah so I am taking 3 months off work to bike across Asia.... but I am not doing it for me, it's for hungry kids".  Just be honest about it.

The water is freakin' COLD.

It takes a few weeks to erase the painful memories - even with the help of throazine,

Being honest doesn't earn you a Fark headline.

Well, given that most of the lakes in Glacier are frozen solid for 4-6 months of the year, many take multi-day backpacking trips to reach, and the guy presumably has a job, I'd say he did alright.

In some cases it IS for charity. Andrea Libman, a voice actress on kids' shows, rode in a charity bike race earlier this year. She ponied up her own entry fee and asked fans to donate as well. Raised quite a sum, considering, but she was totally honest bike riding was what she was doing for fun these days, but this way she got to raise a little scratch for a charity as well.

Contrived "record-breaking" is lame.

First human to climb Everest?
Yep, that's interesting.

First dentist to ascend K2 while wearing a thong and shaving only the left side of his face?
Nope.

Why the left side? And was this an electric razor?

Tell us more about the thong, please.

Also, the records only go back so far. If you can do a strenuous physical feat, the Spartans probably did it naked three times a day for fun.

I visited Glacier National park over the summer. It was by far the best stop during the trip. Here's a few pics, I have more if anyone is interested. EIP

This still won't get Prince to sleep with him until he purifies himself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Here's a few lakes in Glacier that are easy enough to reach, but each is probably a full-day project, and are some of the easier ones to get to in the park.

Fun fact: If you jump in one lake per hour, it will take you exactly one week to jump in all 168 lakes!

Having jumped into Bowman Lake twice and it taking me two years to do so, I salute you, Mister Icewater Against Cancer Man!

Most beautiful place I've ever been. And will be again.

Yes...since Glacier alone has 762 lakes, and probably more if you count marginal meltwater ponds.
