But I really, really want one!!!

The reviewers are giving the new bikes rave reviews and are staying Polaris hit a home run.  Heck Polaris even hired an mechanical engineer who specialized in harmonizing the sounds created by the bike.

That is one fine looking motorcycle.  I'm hoping Polaris will do the brand justice, since so many others have raped it over the last 15 years or so.

They don't save lives anyway, that's just an excuse to justify noise pollution.  If your exhaust is louder it should be because you needed more horse power.  Most aftermarket Harley pipes are just about the noise.

What the fark are you whining about? Just because it makes noises that some people find pleasant, doesn't mean it's obnoxiously loud.

Gentoolive: Meh, looks just like a Harley. I automatically think hunk of crap when I see it.

I have two HDs and neither is a hunk of crap. The only problems I've had is someone installed the shifter incorrectly and it came loose and the shiatty ball joints on the shift linkage predictably failed and I replaced them with Heim joints. Neither problem left me stranded (hooray for zip ties).

My road glide has upgraded jugs, air and pipes. It's all about better performance and isn't obnoxiously loud.

My 1200 Sportster is another story. Performance cam, breather and straight pipes, and it's quicker than shiat. It's the kind of loud that people complain about. I'd apologize but I really don't care. It's all about horsepower and it's a fun ride.

Tell ya what - stop using cell phones while driving and I'll ditch the loud pipes.

/loud pipes do not save lives

No, but harmonizing means it produces as many beat and sideband frequencies as possible. Nice to shake da house.

Kit Fister: Uhm, Indian Motorcycles have been around for a while as a brand? They have been making new bikes under the Indian brand for a few years now, i thought?

They've been coming and going for a while now with different companies buying the rights and then ending up out of business or dropping the line. I'm curious if these are to going to be just as overpriced as your average Harley.

Also, there's apparently no hate like anti-biker hate.

Keep it indoors when it's not being ridden. Don't ride in the rain if at all possible, although some people actually enjoy doing that. You DO NOT want to wax a bike seat, trust me. I would think something like using saddle soap or mink oil would work for taking care of the leather, just make sure you do it when you don't plan on riding for a while. Slippery seats suck.

There is something about you that makes me want to roll up to your house and give you some long sustained throttle rolls. Each morning as early as possible.  I guess I don't like people that are quick to stab just over slight annoyances.

no you wouldn't.
/people want the fanciest, most option appointed thing they can't possibly afford. or need. why do you think apple needs to put out a I-phone every 6 months? because the one they told you that you couldn't live without last year is crap.
/me personally, I agree with you styling wise. but a '63 Riviera dark metallic burgundy 401ci. I don't need blu tooth, or air bags, though front discs I would pay for.

rev. dave: Showing my ignorance:  So how does one protect that leather seat from the elements? Do you cover it or just use the bees wax they use on shoes?

Reintroduce oil (they make leather conditioners) into your leather products from time to time to keep them fresh, like they were just peeled from a baby cow. Skin is skin, so moisturize it to help seal out the elements.

Wax can give it an aged appearance when it begins to fill in the various imperfections, voids, pores, etc. in the leather and if that is the look you want yes you can use it. One problem is beeswax tends to leave a residue that you'll more likely than not pick up on your pants. Some folks use mink oil, some use Scotch brand products. Hell I knew someone that swore by Skin So Soft for his leather upholstery.

Bee's wax leaves the seat tacky. But yeah the things like Armor All sucks. Anything paraffin based should be avoided.
