Maybe Rupert should pull a Cruz and renounce his citizenship in one of the two countries. There must be some law about influencing foreign elections.

After Rudd announced the election date, the Murdoch-owned Daily Telegraph ran the headline:"KICK THIS MOB OUT" In another edition, the Labor leader was shown on the front cover of a tabloid newspaper wearing a Nazi uniform.

Stay Classy, Murdoch.

/And some people wonder why I refer to him as "Rupert the Unbearable".

Doubt it.  Conservatism has failed every single time it's been tried in history.  Why do you think it's going to magically work now?  There may be some very short term gains, and conservatives will cheer and say, "Yeah!  We told ya so!"  Then it will all come crashing down just like it always has in the past when conservative policies are implemented.  Of course, by that point in time, conservatives will be out of power and they'll just blame the liberals.  Rinse and repeat.

No - the only Australian voters that are truly morons are the 4% that "voted informally" (i.e. wasted their vote).

The conservative coalition party have viciously fought against an R Rating for video games (finally introduced in 2011), and delayed and stalled any discussion or debate for years. This election, the conservative party won by preferences from the ultra-conservative Family First Party, who's policy is the removal of the R rating (but only for video games. Film and books are fine, because adults enjoy those).

Now that the coalition is in power, they need Family First's votes. They need to keep Family First happy. They had a DEAL. Prior to 2011, games had to be either severely edited, or were banned in Australia. HERE WE GO AGAIN...

/ Bye-bye Rated R.

That's insane.

If video games influenced children. people that grew up in the 80's playing PacMan would have spent the 90's
dancing around in dark rooms with minimalistic neon lighting, listening to techno music and munching magic power pills. ........oohhh.....Crap.

I can remember as far back as 1997, breaking up banned video games and sending them to Australia to get past their censorship.  The first one I think was one of the Quake expansion packs.
