The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Jesus farking christ on a cracker.  Some rambling hobo walks by their base and they feel the need to charge him for some, anything, because surely he must be up to no good, and they need to keep that HSA money flowing in, and their cousin that's a guard down at the local for-profit prison needs to keep making a living too, and if they don't send him to prison for rambling they'll give folks the impression that their BS jobs aren't absolutely essential.

I think this is hot it went down.

Man was deep in prayer to the Mountain Dew God praying for the return of his son Code Red and couldn't initially hear the cops trying to interrupt his prayers. He then tells the cops they were in a code red zone and they respond by lobbing a flash/bang device at him and stun gunning him because he respected a higher authority than theirs. They then got to a chance to play around with their new toy robot that DHS grants and civil forfeitures paid for. Then they go to blow up some shiat. Now cops are considering charges for disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement according to Officer Slowcum in his release.

Police State Officer poses with some of the remains of the content of the worshiper's suitcase. Then off camera passes dangerous container to TSA agent for destruction.

FTFA: "Consideration of charges for disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement will be presented to the Miami County Prosecutor's Office," Slocum said.

Kneeling in praying is Disorderly Conduct? In United States of In God We Trust? What's more given the averages the guy was probably praying to Jesus, that Jewish carpenter who I've heard is everybody's boss. I'm a Hitchens-style atheist myself, but when praying to Jesus is a criminal offense the USA really is going to hell.

As for "resisting law enforcement"seems like something they tacked on to justify tazing the bro: in he probably tried to explain himself and warn them of "imminent spiritual danger" to them too. "The 7th Seal has been opened! Beware the End of Days! The rider wants a pizza! PIZZA!!!1!"

This story has convinced me it's better to show up naked and dance around while chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. Repeat after me: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare. Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare." Or maybe the Japanese one: "Nam myoho renge kyo. Nam myoho renge kyo!" (With both mantras, repeat till you pass out from exhaustion and see visions.)

Anything, anything, but kneel and beseech unto the Son of God.

Um, no.  They took him into custody for a mental evaluation, which was reasonable, given his conduct, under what's sometimes referred to as the "Baker Act", a name that stems from the applicable statute in Florida.  They sent the case to the prosecutor's office to see about criminal charges.

The whole thing started because he wouldn't respond to the officers. The guy was on public property and police were responding to a call for suspicious activity. Had the he answered the cops questions, he could have potentially walked away (right), but since he didn't, it escalated.

Bottom line, you can't just ignore a cop if you are both on public property. You have to acknowledge their presence. If you are near a military installation, even more so.

kneeling in prayer? Yup, thats definitely disturbed. Better lock him up Lou, after you pepper spray him as a non-lethal distraction.

I heard theres these places called churches where people mumble all the time in prayer. Better get the feds down there quick.

A few years back on the fourth of July we came across a random suitcase at a military base (some old fort near VA beach). We told the gate guards about it on the way out.

They detained us for two hours, and so we missed the fireworks show.

Thanks guys! Glad to help!

Merely ignoring the cops isn't even remotely enough to qualify for an involuntary mental evaluation.  The cops talked to the guy, and he was making bizarre statements to them.  If he said "Hi, I'm religious and anti-war, and this is a street protest" and then showed them what was in the suitcase, odds are pretty good that they'd have left him be.

Brad Pitt's wife's head?
You didn't get that?!
Kevin Spacey even mentions something about her being pregnant.*
That's why he became 'Wrath'.

As for the article, like one Farker said some time back, cops should not be able to charge you with a "resisting arrest" on its own. And if they do charge you with something else, which is subsequently dropped, they have to drop the resisting arrest charge.

*IIRC. Last I saw it was probably in the theaters. Maybe once since
