This. My parents had a 98 SHO Taurus, my first and only experience driving over 120 mph. And it had more in reserve, which scared the hell out of me.

It must suck living in a state where pot is still considered illegal. If just a few more states take Washington's lead we can end this silliness sooner than later.

You only had another 14MPH bud due to the governor.

the last version of the taurus SHO actually has 365 horsepower from a 3,5 liter engine and does 0-60 MPH in about 5.5 but it costs almost 40 grand lol for a taurus

In a big meeting CEO Alan Mullaly and product chief Derrick Kuzak compared the Five Hundred (which they're still going to be trying to sell for a while) to Homer Simpson and showed a slide of Homer Simpson over the the current generation Taurus. Unfortunately, they pulled the slide of Homer Simpson over the Taurus from their website.

Incidentally, no amount of marijuana should be a crime. Not one gram, not one ounce, not one pound, not one ton. The fact that they used this to smuggle weed is proof enough that it should be legal, and that legal weed would be unpleasant for the cartels' bottom lines.

Then the cartels would have to start making Ford keys to steal American cars to sell in Mexico.

Or do they do that already?

When will these people learn?  You are responsible for whatever is in your car.

Yeah, it's not fair, but if I drove across an international border for work or school, I'd get in the habit of checking the trunk first.

Ford Taurus is the most underrated car out there when it comes to performance.  It's only real weakness is that it is a front real drive, other then that it has real potential if you want something with a little power under the hood.

SHO is AWD, sort of.  Better than the FWD, though.

Ballsy car, interior is a little funky, but comfortable.  Sync is meh, at best.

Horrendous, terrible, awful and suck-ass blind spots, though.

I looked at the SHO right when the Taurus was reintroduced and it was north of 45k.

You had to get every. Single. Option. (Including $750 for the only colors the SHO came in)To get the ecoboost.

I was hoping to buy a "base model", steel wheels and all in grandma silver with ecoboost and AWD.

Grr. . .

I've said this a few times, but apparently, it hasn't caught on.  Maybe this story will help.  Sty the f*ck out of Mexico.  It's largely criminal culture founded on dope, the people selling the dope will cut you to ribbons if there's nothing else to do, and they don't give a f*ck about you.  Nada.  Not a William nor Nilliam.  At all.  Go to some other other God forsaken sh*hole on vacation.  Mexico is pretty much screwed until further notice.  And, if you really want to help, stop buying their blood stained dope.

I guess the $100 to change the keys to a different random set would be too hard.  My locksmith cousin keeps spare ignitions and car door locks just to provide this service.

Yes! It's hilarious, actually. A friend of mine from college has one, a '94, and she has had it for over 12 years, and every time I've driven it I've been surprised at how stupid fast it actually is. It's rusted out, parts sometimes fall off, I've fixed many things on it over the years, but damn if it doesn't have some power. She says she wants to get a different car, but every time I find something for her, she ends up backing out. It's like her security blanket.

Next door neighbor got locked out of his house. Tried the house key just for kicks. It worked. Bonus: the neighbor was an FBI agent. So it make sense they'd see, decades later, that a car lock might figure into a story sometime.

Fun fact, the 3.1 had forged internals from the factory.  When I was in high school I built a junkyard turbo setup on a 3.1 camaro.  POS, but it was pretty quick.  Ran it 15-20 pounds for a good (read: bad for the car) 10k miles before I got rid of it.
