I like that even the article he obviously paid for can't even resist making fun of the guy for being the typical idiot also-ran you get four or five of in every major municipal election.

It's only  funnier because he's actually wasting money on it, while folks like the "the rent is too damn high" dude can get basically the same publicity and impact for essentially free.

CATSimatidis (as his primary mailing always refer to him) almost exclusively uses quotes from Newsmax in his campaign commercials.

That doesn't surprise me at all. And I strongly suspect the CATS thing is because he heard somewhere that the internet likes cats.

'republican'

'i have three billion dollars'
'this wonderful guy just gave five thousand dollars away publicly during campaign season!'

Ugh.

Catsimatidis is backed by Pataki & Tea Party groups, and yet is a financial backer of both Hillary Clinton and Cuomo

I wonder if Catsimatidis will try to run as an independent when he loses the primary. The latest poll showed him 24 points behind Lhota, despite his massive funding advantage.

Lhota has $900k in the bank, and raised just $150k last month.

As someone who links to the NY Times once in a while, I would be delighted to hear how you link to a New York Times article and NOT get a login screen.

In fact, you should write an ebook explaining how to do so, put in on Amazon, and charge 99c.. I would buy it...

I have to admit, CATS seems like the sort of guy who, in a mayoral campaign, you can take one look and say, "Okay, I really am undecided, but I definitely don't want THAT guy,"

But what does he stand for?

"Don't know. Don't care. NOT. HIM."

Not JUST Bay Ridge. In Staten Island I see his yard signs all over the place. Not a single one for any other Republican mayoral candidate. Not one.

Subby, please don't pretend Bloomberg is a Republican.  There is no Republican Party in NYC.  Bloomberg is a liberal that didn't feel like participating in the Democrat Party primary - that's a gigantic difference.

The use of the word "democrat" (no capitalization, of course) as an adjective didn't ping your trolldar?
