I used to watch him when I was back in high school. You know why? There was *nothing* else on at that time, save Johnny Carson interviewing a Gabor sister, reruns of She's The Sheriff or New Zealand Rules Curling on ESPN.

Anything is better then Leno.

He needs to be careful he doesn't overtax himself.

We forget that in the old days, following the evening news, Carson, or the Late Late show, TV went off the air by 1am or so. There literally wasn't anything else to watch.

If he can get Living Colour to perform again, he might have a shot

I actually remember seeing it back in the day and being completely blown away. The audience shots are priceless.

I'm still looking forward to it. Besides, Bill Clinton doesn't have much to do right now, so there's a good chance he'll be back and bring his sax.

Letterman can have his moments but his monologues are less funny that they used to be (he sets up every joke like he was a Vegas lounge comic) and his interaction with Paul Schaeffer is not funny like it used to be.

I'll say this for his old show - Arsenio brought a diverse range of great music to television.  Some pretty bad music, too, but hey.

2013-09-07 11:33:22 AM
No thanks, I will keep watching W. Kamal bell instead. He's actually funny ya know.

Sorry, Arsenio. Like the guy said in the article, you aren't bringing anything new to the table and you are gonna fall flat on your ass.

I certainly hope not. Talk about rude. That's no way to treat a lady.

What I appreciate about Letterman (Schaeffer as MD) is the number and variety of bands they have on. I have founds some great bands because of that old man.

I think I watched it once when Frank Zappa was a guest.

Slightly better than The Magic Hour (that's not saying much), maybe Magic can co-host.

I'm wondering, when Arsenio when to his plastic surgeon, did he just point at a picture of Ru Paul and say "This"?

Don't like it? Don't watch.

I sure as hell won't.

Nothing else to add, really.

The awful f♥cking 1990s are over.

Except in Portland.

Otherwise, the awful f♥cking 1990s are over. Let it go.

I get the feeling that the 90s nostalgia is going to be much worse and intrusive than the 80s nostalgia of the last decade was.  I'm not sure I want to be around when Nu-metal makes its inevitable comeback.

His Guest list.   Chris Tucker, Mark Harmon, Lisa Kudrow, Ice Cube, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, George Lopez and Angela Bassett.

1990s called and wants it's stars back.  Hell, I might just watch this fiasco of a time machine train wreck.  My hair my grow back.

I liked his show, back then.

Late night TV now?  I'm starting work at 11 pm.  Or if I'm off, I'll sleep in a few more hours.

Yeah, I think this could still work. He was always a great personality.

Jimmy Fallon at 11:30 is the bad idea. NBC never learns.

And, Seth Meyers can't even make a few minutes of Weekend Update funny twice a month. He's going to do five entire shows a week now? He will make Carson Daly look like Johnny Carson.

2013-09-07 02:28:18 PM
Still funnier than FarkTV.

2013-09-07 02:37:12 PM
Two things: Arsenio was in the greatest film ever made, Coming to America and his musical guests ruled.

He gets a pass.

Zsa Zsa's still alive (just barely, at age 96).  I'd definitely watch if Arsenio had her on the show.

Sounds like the cast of one of those VH1 shows where they make fun of other c-list celebs.

Maybe throw Danny Bonaduce and that girl who's boyfriend whacked the figure skater into the mix.

He's not the Late Night Host we need...

He's the one we deserve.....
