And one for the Boston marathon.
Thanks subby, I think those are  people.virginia.edu

Those aren't bad.  Kinda liked 'em.

Some of those are badass. Some not too shabby. One or two though...

2013-09-07 06:58:28 AM
Some are obviously anti-team, others seem overly praising, all are stupid and an insult to GOT and the NFL.

The NFL isn't an epic, sorry.

2013-09-07 07:04:20 AM
those were all pretty cool. I especially loved how they all glorify their team, except for the browns. there's was more of a "yea, we kinda suck."

/even tho I'm a bears fan, i thought the 49ers one was the best

2013-09-07 07:21:57 AM
And my Dolphins still not cool.

But one of the Browns alternates says "Cleveland - Loyalty Unbroken".  I like that one.  The other says "Slip the Dogs of War".  Not bad...

I hope the NFL lawyers don't destroy the guy...  these are great...

Fall is coming and so are NFL lawyers.

oryx: Fall is coming and so are NFL lawyers.

The NFL Marketing department needs to hijack those lawyers. "Fleur Dat Lis" is an incredibly good slogan for the Saints.

At least the NFL involves people genuinely doing something. GOT is an old man writing about imaginary people, doing imaginary things. And the writing isn't of any significant calibre. At least Rothfuss is a damned good writer. Martin is a long-winded hack. He is the Cris Collinsworth of literature.

IANAL, but I think the use of those logos would fall under "fair use", as long as he's not using them for profit. I want to be right, but I'm probably way wrong.

You have never watched NFL Films I take it?

The NE Patriots' one that says "By Any Means Necessary" had me laughing. Break out the video cameras, boys!

The jets one seemed meh

I thought the titans one was incredible

Some of these are underwhelming.  Then you have the Niners' one.

The NFL should get the lawyers on this... to give the guy money to design some t-shirts. I'd fork over some cash for "The Autumn Wind" one with or without the skull.

I was mentioning this in the soccer thread to have ready for Sunday. Thanks subby for putting it in for a link (hadn't thought of any good headlines). Personally, the Browns one is absolutely perfect given that everyone else gets an uplifting one.

Great motion pictures are often based on the writing of hacks. Ever read The Godfather?

Carolina's 'One Swift Strike', Buffalo's 'Beware The Stampede' and New Orleans 'We Come Marching' are all t-shirts I'd wear. And I'm a Giants guy. Theirs were disappointing.

2013-09-07 12:29:24 PM
Those are great. I agree, you could sell a lot of merchandise featuring that artwork.

2013-09-07 12:48:30 PM
Subby, and I agree that my Niners got one of the best of the lot.

I think the cool thing is that every team got at least one fairly badarse slogan, no matter who they were. Even the Jets: Fly High, Fly True

Bear in mind that I think that the slogans that get the main display on that page are the ones with the most 'Favorite' votes, so you can change what's on the main page if you're so inclined.

The only real complaint that I have is the positioning of some of the words and letters kind of muddles the slogans up. Like the Steelers; I think it's supposed to say 'Forged By Fire, Hardened Of Honor'.

2013-09-07 12:50:27 PM
Brilliant, mostly. Even the worst are still better than 90% of the officially produced stuff.

2013-09-07 12:53:08 PM
Anyone know if the NFL has a contact for submitting stuff? Like, 'hey, check this guy out, you should hire him to produce designs for you, I would buy these t-shirts'. Or would that run the risk of getting the artist a cease-and-desist?

I would go to Nike and show them..  they have the license to produce NFL logo'd stuff so they can make the stuff without the NFL SWAT teams going into the guys house and suing him into the stone age..

We Come Marching is a good one for the Saints.  Reminded me of a similar one that said Fear the March.

I really liked all of them.

I liked these. They are really neat looking. Having said that WTF is up with the completely random type size? It detracts greatly from many of the designs.

The Saints one I would wear on a t-shirt. My girlfriend wears this one:

sphotos-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net

Dude, it's Star Wars and football ON THE SAME SHIRT. It's obviously not official but if you're a Saints fan there's this great store called Fleurty Girl that sells all sorts of goofy Saints stuff. They have men's sizes too. A block down the street is Petcetera, where they have every conceivable Saints-related item for your dog or cat. Or goat, I don't know. It's a weird town. Am assuming both stores do internet orders.

Gosling: I think the Colts win this one.

That's not bad when you read it. If you just look at it it kinda says "IS U DOWN" which, read in the right voice, is hilarious.

Charger fan here liked ours, it's truthful too. Not that well win a whole bunch but with Mathews in the back field Rivers will have no choice but to throw 45+ times a game

He could have snuck in a "Not Racist, but #1 with Racists" in there for fun.

The Detroit one that said "what is dead may never die" was a but much but hilarious
