Only medium fries?  Destined to fail.

2013-09-06 09:41:15 PM
What family do they use as their standard? Are we talking "childless couple" or "Duggar"?

2013-09-06 09:41:27 PM
This should solve the obesity problem.

Looks like about enough food to satisfy two hungry customers.

What's so farked up is that the SAME hedge funds make profit off of McDonald's and Health Care.

How's that Mid-Eastern Usury Culture working out for you, Western Civilization?

Nope.

"Family Size"?  That's about what I would order for one slightly-above-average meal, and I'm not even a fatass.

/skip the mcnuggets and add another cheeseburger
//actually, skip the whole thing and drive to burger king instead

2013-09-06 09:47:34 PM
Is this different than other fast food places that sell family meals or picnic boxes ?

lol and I was 'joking.'  wow

They are already advertising this on the KC TV channels. It seems an okay deal for a family of 4 (adults get the burgers, 2 or more kids split the nuggets and everyone shares the fries) or perhaps for 1 teenage boy.

I'd go with the 2-liter of Diet Coke, tho'.

Live in Kansas City, the non-Brownbackistan side, and these did indeed appear recently at the McDonalds closest to my house.

Seems a strange combination of items to call a "family" combo. Sandwiches and fries for two... and a butt-load of nuggets for a random third person who apparently didn't want a sandwich or fries, but did want to gorge on nuggets?

It's for single fat-asses. The "Family" moniker is just to avoid bad publicity.

2013-09-06 09:56:33 PM
Wait, "quarter pounders" are only single burgers?

I take back everything I said, I wouldn't even waste my time with this bullshiat.

A: McDonalds is unhealthy? Alert the presses!
B: It's allegedly intended to be split between families.

Or one fat American.. Which I bet will be the predominant person purchasing these.

I take it someone has already mentioned that McDonald's competition does the same thing (family meal deal), especially the pizza and fried chicken places.

I wouldn't eat a meal like that even close to regularly, but I'd be lying if I said I've never eaten a single meal like that.  I used to get 2 Arch Deluxe meals from the single McDonald's I had ever seen to still be selling them, somewhere along I-80 in Iowa during the late 90's.  Wolf them both down, chug one of the drinks, back on the road with the other drink.  It wouldn't be a stretch to add the nuggets; I generally only eat 1 meal a day and it often fills all 2000 of my calories for the day.

/5'9"~180lbs, only about 170 then
//I was active-duty military then, for perspective on body type

Seems to be somewhat of a deal
It certianly isn't a "Family" meal
Two adults and a small child at best
Two, burgers, medium fries (that's a deal breaker right there, and 20 nuggets (though they are filling)
Where's the drink?
Throw in a 2ltr Coke and maybe ya have something

/hate McD's food
//would only eat if had too

2013-09-06 10:07:54 PM
Remember those nuggets are from China, so you have to factor in the lead and arsenic values.

Except mcdonalds doesn't sell mt. Dew. And for some reason, most of them (in ms, anyway) don't have mello-yello anymore. The bastards.

It's clearly for two people. Why else would there be only two servings of French fries in it? What, the kids get nuggets and nothing else? Good luck with that.

In theory, it is possible to cut the burgers in half. In practice, I am sure nobody in history has ever done this.
