I wish for very very very bad things to happen to the person who started using the word selfie, and to all people who continue to use it.

Every time I see a picture NASA posts I'm like, "Wow, does that thing really look like that in real life?" and then I read the fine print and find out that it's made up of a bunch of filters and/or an artist's rendering of what it probably looks like.  So I foresee no change.

Those are some great pictures. Bring it on, NASA. I'll create an account to just to look at the images.

Well most of what is interesting for the purpose of scientific research is in the electromagnetic spectrum outside of our visible range; false colorization is just an attempt to modulate that information into a range we are able tosee.

Totally agree. I HATE that term and the deluded narcissists who do it.

The real tragedy is explained in the Wiki:

Uranus is similar in composition to Neptune, and both are of different chemical composition than the larger gas giants Jupiter and Saturn. For this reason, astronomers sometimes place them in a separate category called "ice giants".

Uranus will always be a gas giant to me.

I love the DOTI stuff I've seen on Facebook, I just despise Instagram for allowing people to use shiatty filters to make their photos look 'vintage'. Motherfarkers, people pay good freaking money to RESTORE pictures from that state, why would you ever maul your photos that way... *photo-nerd rage*

Heh. Yea, I can see where that would get annoying. I like looking at those pictures just cause I'm sitting there thinking "I want to explore that area and camp there. Add it to the bucket list." I'll overlook someones half baked idea of what looks good, as long as I'm exposed to a new area.

Now if only I could explore the space pictures. *sigh*
