It's almost like they were just saying that Obama-care wouldn't cause you to lose your insurance, not a guarantee that you couldn't lose it at all for any reason.

It certainly wasn't a guarantee that substandard plans could continue to be substandard, and there's nothing stopping these associations from continuing to offer insurance, they just don't want to.

Pelosi's vision of a world full of carefree artists, musicians, and writers is a mirage and becoming fainter the closer we get to January 1. The unfortunate freelancers out there who are losing their insurance because of Obamacare now have one more thing to worry about. They may want to start looking for a day job.

What a farking drama queen/nutjob.

What?! I just took a dump on my boss' desk and told him, "Ha ha! Because of Obamacare, you can fire me but you'll still have to provide me with insurance! So SUCK IT!"

Oh man. I better go get the gloves and disinfectant.

*sigh*

Once again, NO ONE IS MAKING YOU CHANGE YOUR PLANS, IF YOU ARE IN IT, AND LIKE IT, AND IT'S STILL AVAILABLE.

In addition, EVERY YEAR PLANS CHANGE, SOME ARE DROPPED, SOME ARE COMBINED, EMPLOYERS MAY SHOP AROUND, AND OTHER CHANGES ARE MADE BY OUTSIDE SOURCES THAT MAY FORCE YOU TO BUY INTO A NEW OR DIFFERENT PLAN.

Now, because of Obamacare rules, some insurers may calculate they need to move things around. But those issues are just one of many every insurer has to take into account each year as they plan the next year's offerings.

Thank you.

Yes, Weekly Standard writer, we all know that single-payer would be far, far more efficient, would cover everyone no matter what they did or didn't do, would move with you from job to job and state to state, would massively streamline the process of treating people because it would be only one database for all medical records, would save lives, prolong lives, and save money.

But your conservative, capitalist scumbag leash-holders were against it, because it produces far fewer multi-millionaires.  So we've got a pile of crap that's just a little bit better than the pile we had before Obamacare.  You want to actually HELP all the people you're mewling about?  Campaign for universal coverage.  Alternatively, STFU.

Last week, there was an article from a GOP strategist elaborating on how a 2016 victory is still possible for the GOP, but it depended on a number of things.

One of those things was a 180 shift by younger voters, who suddenly decide that Obamacare is horrible because they have to buy insurance like old people.

And today, there's this pos article elaborating on how younger voters are getting shafted by Obamacare because reasons.

Wow. The fevered wet dreams these poor deluded souls have is amazing. Since their strategy is to be more racist, misogynistic and homophobic, how can they see they have a chance in hell of winning the youth vote? It's repugnant to me as an Xer.

Here's the actuarial value of individual plans that were used in 2010:

theincidentaleconomist.com

One in 20 people who have individual insurance plans have insurance that will cover, on average, 35% of their health care expenses. Their insurance will assuredly change for the better. If they're crying about losing their insurance after being told they could keep it, they're ignorant about how poor their insurance actually is.

Tying access to affordable healthcare to employment, and the business decisions (i.e. which policy/policies to carry) of your employer, is the worst thing that's ever happened to healthcare in this country.

FTA: ""The New York Life Insurance Company recently informed CAA that it will no longer offer catastrophic healthcare coverage previously available to CAA members." Why? Because it "is no longer an option" for "associations whose members reside in different states" to provide such coverage. "

I guess that means that the Congressional health insurance plan no longer qualifies either then?
