Kid almost got Zimmerman'd

Now, don't do it again.

"unintentional misfire"

Is there an intentional misfire?

Dekalb County Police-Shoot first.. who cares what later.

You DC farkers:  Don't the PG pigs act like this?

2013-09-05 12:47:39 PM
For anyone too lazy to read the article. They didn't even shoot the kid while he was running away. They tracked him to a shed and when he "startled" the officer... there was an "unintentional misfire"

2013-09-05 12:47:39 PM
Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Next time you skip school, go to the damn mall or something.

2013-09-05 12:48:12 PM

The teen's aunt and legal guardian, Geraldine Lloyd, told Channel 2 Action News that it was a close call, but she's relieved the teen will survive the shooting.

She said she's not angry with the police.

"I'm not going to allow myself to get upset," she said. "I told him he knew better, he should have been on the school bus. If he'd been at school this would have never occurred."

Good on you, Aunt Geraldine. No snark.

You know, I don't have a problem with guns.  I really don't.

But I have a BIG FARKING PROBLEM with the millions of 'Muricans who insist on firing their goddamned guns at the drop of a hat!

"That boy's a-runnin' from the po-lice.  Best shoot'im."
"That boy's got his hand in his pocket.  Best shoot'im 19 times."
"That boy--oh fark it, just shoot'im."

The boy also sounds attractive and successful.

In Atlanta, there's a good chance the officer was attractive and successful too.

2013-09-05 12:55:00 PM
According to the police chief, the officer shouldn't have expected that pulling his gun might result in someone being shot, but the kid running down the street ought to have expected an officer to accidentally shoot him.

I find thinking about baseball helps with that.

Years of government training.

I believe it's also a fancy term for premature ejaculation.

Synopsis for people too lazy to read TFA: Kid was skipping school. Cops caught two home-invading burglars at a house nearby, at least one other was seen running from the scene, and cops were chasing him. Kid ran from cops because he was truant, so they chased him, too; thinking he was one of the burglars. Cop with a dog tracked kid to a shed, he startled the cop and the cop's gun went off, wounding the kid in the arm. Cop has been relieved of his gun pending investigation.

"That's when we had an unintentional misfire," Alexander said.

I swear I didn't mean to shoot the little punk ass biatch teen

Rule 3: Keep your booger hook off the bang switch until you are ready to shoot. Even if you're a cop.

2013-09-05 12:58:47 PM
This punk got what he deserved.  Extraordinary efforts and expenses are made every year to provide a free, quality public education to every American child.  This loser thumbs his nose at the incredible opportunity that has been given to him, and then to top it off, he runs from police he believes are looking for him.  This incident will not be his last run in with the police, and probably isn't his first.  Honestly, returning him to school will do more harm to society than good.  Our teachers and school administrators need to focus their time and energy on children who want to learn, who want to succeed, and who want to be productive members of society.  The "victim" in this case is not the teen who was shot, it is the society that invested anything into him when he clearly does not want or deserve such consideration.

Let our teachers focus on the kids who want to be in school.  Take this mad dog behind the shed and put him out of our misery.

"That's when we had an unintentional misfire," Alexander said.

Zimmerman says to himself "Why didn't I think of that excuse?"

2013-09-05 12:59:05 PM
Police did not make clear whether the officer's weapon malfunctioned (very unlikely, as in almost impossible)  or whether the officer inadvertently pulled the trigger. Unless he had a muscle spasm, he pulled the trigger on purpose.

DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said Wednesday the shooting was an "unintentional misfire."

Gotta love it.
Saw the kid, aimed at the kid, shot the kid, but it was an "unintentional misfire".
No, it was pretty much right on target and definitely intentional.
Cop won't get anything more than a slap on the wrist though, if that.

Will be interested if you get any nibbles. I'm betting you'll get more bites from troglodytes who agree with this than from outraged bleeding hearts.

Alexander said that, had the youth stopped running, the incident probably wouldn't have happened.
"Absolutely it would've been different," he said. "Had he stopped right there ... That would have been it."

Except the beating and tasering would still have occured. But he wouldn't have been shot. Probably

And if the boy had been killed?

Then that would be a completely different situation than the one in TFA, and drawing direct comparisons would obviously be disingenuous. Duh.

Besides, the aunt is basically saying "he brought it on himself by playing hookey". There isn't much room to dispute that.

Actually you NEVER draw your gun and leave your finger off the trigger. If you leave your finger off the trigger then you needn't have drawn it. Especially if you're a cop.

This.  Sometimes the 'Murican in question wears blue, other times not.  Either way, same result:  premature ejaculation.

"Somebody's knocking on the back door--best get the shotgun!"
"People are walking across my neighbor's lawn--grab the gat!"

Better yet, why not let the teachers decide which kids are worth the effort of teaching and which are not.  Since we are going to arm all teachers anyways, we might as well get our tax dollars worth out of those guns and let them use them.  Although that might reduce NRA memberships.

Alexander said one of the K-9 officers who saw the teen gave chase. When the officer's dog tracked the teen to a shed the teen startled the officer and the dog, Alexander said. "That's when we had an unintentional misfire," Alexander said.

"Seven times. Then he kept falling onto our nightsticks, over and over."

Fark you, the police officer used deadly force while not being in a situation that required it, unintentional or not. This is an obvious entitled mentality and poor training of use of force.

No, that's a pretty stupid attitude to have. See, there are different degrees of wrongness. "Being in a different place than you're supposed to be" and "Attempted murder" are at two opposite ends.

A misfire implies that the cycle of operation on his weapon had stopped, he let go of the trigger and a shot was fired.  Or soem other mechanical problem caused the shot.

That didn't happen.

The cop shot him.

BWAHAHAHA, Yep, that's how guns work. They just go off like that without any fault of the person holding it.
