"While he campaigned and during his time in office, Jindal has pledged repeatedly not to raise taxes. I applaud him for that. States with high tax rates push wealth from their borders (see California, New York and Illinois), and invariably end up worse off in the long run. "

Because California, New York, and Illinois are doing so terrible in comparison to Louisiana.

In Louisiana, are the state funded artificial reefs anything like the state funded artificial sandbars?

Jews, Jews and Jews (respectively) brought their Israeli money in to those states, so a bit of unskewing is certainly called for.

And when you consider the "spiritual riches" God is sure to rain down on the South as repayment for their tireless devotion to fighting God's enemies (Muslims, minorities, homosexuals), why, Lousiana is swimming in money.

Great, there goes funding for school books, libraries, condoms, and the arts.

You're all missing the point, what he's trying to say is that better fishing for white people is much more important than education and health benefits for black people, so there's nothing to get all upset about.

Exactly, who wants another uppity usurper in the White House, especially a nearly-100% black usurper.

It's all relative.  We all know that crazy white person who is totally milking that government safety net, but gosh darn it, there is some lazy black person that the white person knows who is totally doing less in life and totally milking the government more, cuz soshulizms, muslins, so on and henceforth comma.

Who wants to eat fish that live in America's sewer pipe anyways?  LA oysters have to be the most flavorless oysters on earth.

I want to start a PAC that advocates a state gets the same taxes back as it sends to the Feds. I'm sure the majority of Red Staters think NY and Cali are just giant drains on the system.

The cost of living is far higher in CA than it is in LA, furthermore median income is a garbage stat artificially inflated by Hedge Fund managers and movie stars.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_by_poverty_rate

The table that you want is Supplemental Poverty Measure

CA: 22.4%
NY: 17.6%
IL: 13.8%
LA: 12.8%

So yeah what state is that full of McJobs that has over 1/5th the state in poverty again?

No. they're more like state-funded levees and state-funded Army Corps Engineers in that you may need them to prevent you from being washed out into the Gulf of Mexico.
