I don't hate the RDJ Holmes, but this is a little more my speed.

Ultra cool. Good combo of actor and director. They could film almost anything together and I'd gladly watch it.

Isn't the market a little saturated for Sherlock Holmes?

In the last few years, we've had:

4.bp.blogspot.com
irulan18.files.wordpress.com
1.bp.blogspot.com
www.thecliffedge.com

Not to mention an upcoming "comedy" Sherlock Holmes movie with Sacha Baron Cohen and the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes video game series.

Please...he's an out of copywrite character that is interesting. Ergo, he's cheaper than, say...something original.

Jeremy Brett
Benedict Cumberbatch
Basil Rathbone
Peter Cushing
Robert Downey Jr.
Everyone else who has ever played Holmes.
Matt Frewer.

In that order.

Robert Downey Jr. is above Nicoll Williamson and Christopher Plummer?

I think he was just naming Holmes he could think of and then an excuse to put every other portrayal above Matt Frewer's.

Though I did forget about Plummer.

Am I the only one who read that as "Bill Condom" and thought "Huh, appropriate, I guess?"

I read that initially as Ian McShane, and I was excited.  Now, not so much.

Only two and a half more months until BBC Sherlock is back, Morgan Freeman's love child is awesome and here's hoping he gets to play solo for the first half of the premier.

You realize that Ian McKellen is who Ian McShane wishes he could be, right?

Shame it's not the Beekeeper's Apprentice; that's one of the best non-Doyle Sherlock Holmes stores I've read.

Wife's theory is he survived the fall, mine is that he disguised Moriarty's corpse and threw it off the roof.

Regardless, The Prestige is an awesome movie.

It couldn't be Moriarty - Watson saw the corpse.
