Your link referenced actual premiums v. expected premiums.  I'm talking about the increase in actual premiums from year to year.  From 1999 to 2008, premiums increased at an annual rate of 13.2% per year.  From 2008 to 2013, premiums increased at 5.6% per year.  In other words, the rate of premium increase has been cut by more than half.

This is pretty much the ONLY reason the Republicans are trying their damnedest to kill the ACA.  They know damn well it will work (look at MA for history), and when something actually works in government, it's pretty damn hard to kill it off.

To counter all the misinformation coming from the right.

Obamacare has a good chance of being at least moderately successful, and the more people participate the better the chances are.  The government has a compelling interest to give it the best possible shot.

What's in it:

-Extended benefits for college kids
-No denial of coverage for those with pre-existing conditions
-Everybody needs to, and will be covered, meaning no more ER visits for the uninsured (well, considerably less) at a cost to you and I.
-Preventive care
-80% of premiums must go to actual health benefits (claims)

Look, why don't you stop eating paste and start reading it?  It isn't tough.
