Thankfully the Tigers won't face a team with bats that hot for the rest of the season. And hopefully Miggy gets back in the lineup by Friday. It was tied 4-4 so I went outside to play fetch with the dogs, came back in to check the score a couple innings later. "how the f*ck did that happen?"

And a former Ranger pitcher was the game winner.

I'm sure the Rangers were more impressed when the Red Sox won the whole thing that year.

Who was the BoSox catcher in yesterday's game?  Nappie???

Tigers did wonders for my A's last series.  Should have better except Balfour had the odd blown save.

I picked a good time to go to my first Red Sox game this season. Fun game to watch and Ortiz got his 2,000th hit.

Did an extra point get blocked or did they go for 2?

Two stalled drives at the 30 yard line. Gostkowski is automatic though.

Similarly, I left the game when it was 13-4. I got to a bar near North Station not to long after to wait for the commuter rail and it was already 18-4.

What do you expect from a guy named Balfour? Sorry, too easy

Last night was fun but the Scherzer v Lester game are the kind of wins you like to see this time of year.

It amazes me that there is a bar in North Station but not one in South Station.  And by 'amazes me' I mean pisses me off.

But the Rangers did it against Baltimore. The Sox did it against the second best team in the AL.

I remember the Red Sox scoring 14 runs in the first inning against the Marlins in 03, then the Marlins took the series and World Series. Baseball is a strange game.

It's annoying and a tad embarrassing, but it's one non-playoff game and we're still up by 6.5 games.

The most amusing part of that boxscore?  Miggy was playing LF.

No wonder the 2007 Rangers aren't impressed...none of the Red Sox pitchers earned a save.

Hope they got all those runs out of their system going into the series tonight.

I still don't know why they closed Clarkes, but then again it was always surprisingly dead whenever I stopped in.

I have heard they are putting a Tavern On The Square in where Clarkes was.

My first (and only) game at the stadium saw Beckett beat Randy Johnson 14-3.  It was fun, to put it mildly.

My three favorite things about that Texas 30 Baltimore 3 game:

Texas was trailing 3-0.

Wes Littleton of the Rangers was credited with a save thanks to pitching the last three innings.

Texas had more innings in which they scored 0 runs (5) then they did in which they scored runs (4; 5 in the 4th, 9 in the 6th, 10 in the 8th, and 6 in the 9th).

I'm having a great time watching the games this season. I should make my first trip back to Alemeda County Coliseum (it still is in my world) since the 1980's this year.

Another good AL west question is on what day does Houston reach 100 losses? Seven games to go.

The Bestest: Hey, leave the Angels alone. At least its almost impossible for them (or the Mariners) to finish in last now.

Why? They've got two of the biggest douche-bags ever to come through Texas.

One can't win a playoff game because he's too focused on racing cars, knife-fightin', script writing & cocking off about how he could land the team plane.

The other is a mental midget who badmouthed the fans that supported him upon his departure, quit on his team, has to have a babysitter to keep him from going on benders and banging skanks in the stalls at Sherlocks & wraps himself in the cloak of religion anytime he, his actions or his words are questioned.

fark the Fblog.psprint.comilos!

To your post, though. It was a foregone conclusion that Houston would finish last & they will again next year.

And judging by your fark moniker - assuming it's a nod to Chief Wahoo, you surely enjoyed that 2007 season as well. That was the last time Cleveland made the post season.

Cosart and Chapman look like solid pitchers. Matt Dominguez can do some harm at the plate. I'd say three years if the management staff and front office have a clue.

Probably not next year, but I'd bet on the year after. They have (I believe) six of seven minor league teams in the playoffs right now, and they have some excellent up-and-coming young stars. So once they are good again, they're gonna be good for a long time. If they don't fark it up.
