One night, a man sent a former flame flirtatious text messages while his girlfriend was sleeping next to him. The next evening, he posted cruel comments about his significant other on Facebook.
While this may sound like the work of a terrible boyfriend, his actions weren't entirely voluntary because he hadn't been awake. The man was "sleep texting."

I believe this, a million times, no

Ambien walrus, is that you?

This has the potential for catastrophe, how can we possibly combine the words Slexting and Sexting into one thing?

Has "not accepting responsibility for your behavior" really gotten this bad where people actually try this bullshiat?

My sleep talking has got me in enough trouble, I can't imagine how bad it would be to have text proof of what I said.

I'm sleeping right now so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

A buddy of mine was going thru a nasty break up, he posted her name in the 'what's on your mind' box in all caps.  It was late at night, and I was very confused.  The next morning he apologized saying he thought he was texting.  I know booze was involved, but even I was like wtf, how do you confuse the two?

"Slexting: a dangerous new trend gaining popularity among teens.  Tune in at 10 to find out why!"

i have experienced the receiving end of sleep-phone-calls, sleep-talking (i do this too), and sleep-sex

had a girlfriend (live-in for a month or 2) about 10 years ago...some mornings the subject of sex the night before would come up, and she would have no recollection of having done anything! typically i'd honestly tell her "too bad you don't remember because you were good". was she on drugs? i doubt it. she really never seemed like she was on anything, i never saw her take/do any sort of drug (unless you count caffeine...i don't even think either of us drank alcohol when we were together), and i never saw any evidence of drugs.

That's a nice excuse, but only if you ignore the fact that a sleeping brain can't really process written language.  The parts of your brain that actually handle communication, both written and verbal, essentially shut down when you are asleep.  That's why things like sleep-learning are merely a myth.

Someone is either getting blackout farked up and then texting or lying so that his lady friend doesn't bust his balls for texting an ex in the middle of the night.

Maybe your sex just wasn't that memorable.

I'm pretty prone to sleep disturbances (hypnagogic hallucination, some sleep walking/talking/other actions, etc) and have, in fact, tweeted things in my sleep.

Usually, it happens when i'm under severe emotional distress, and it's almost always some dream.  Once it was something about the dangers of eating live octopus tentacles.

fark yeah it is.  I do it all the time.

Why don't people understand that just because you weren't awake long enough to remember it, does not mean you did it in your sleep.

What an actual nighttime conversation between me and my wife would have looked like had she sleep-texted it instead of sleep-spoken it.
