If they're not all actors, that was an awesome prank...

2013-09-04 04:13:23 PM
Fake.  I don't care how super-king-Kamehameha-hi-res the screen is.  You don't notice that distant objects should be stationary in the background when you move your head?  You didn't notice the field of vision through the "window" didn't expand when you walked toward it?

2013-09-04 04:17:01 PM
Reminds me of this

2013-09-04 04:20:53 PM
If that is real that is F*CKED up.

2013-09-04 04:22:54 PM
I'll throw my hat in the fake ring...... it is an advertisement after all.

Storm is so farking fired

2013-09-04 04:26:47 PM
So not only are they unemployed, but you scare the crap out of them and then what?  Job offer or no job offer?

Crewmannumber6: Storm is so farking fired

Ok, that was funny.

Another vote for "fake" here.  And not even really entertaining.

2013-09-04 04:31:03 PM
Fake. Parallax, how does that work?

2013-09-04 04:39:19 PM
I would have sat there and said "meteors are a lot faster than that, nice try."

2013-09-04 04:39:20 PM
Bet if the interviewer played his cards right, he could've got some action from that chick.

End of the world action, that is.

2013-09-04 04:39:28 PM
I don't know about the rest of you, but for those arguing about the interviewee being able to tell because of parallax and FOV reasons, there could have been a dancing midget in the corner of the room when I've been on job interviews and I wouldn't have noticed it. I was preoccupied with other things, like not throwing up. Maybe I'm just a terrible interview subject, but I bet most other people are somewhat nervous as well and wouldn't necessarily notice things like that.

It was TOTALLY real.  I know this because I saw Jeff Gordon doing a test drive in the cockpit of the space ship that crashed, and the space ship salesman in the co-pilot seat was completely freaking out.

its not ..its horseshiat.

Be funnier if it was a 757 coming at the 'window'...

this.  they pulled the same shiat with the elevator prank where the floor "drops" away.  the prank only works from the perspective of the hidden camera capturing the prank. the only victims are the people who believe their commercials.

Doesn't matter how clear the picture is, you're brain doesn't perceive reality and images on a screen the same way. Everybody was obviously acting.

In this case, I'd have to disagree.
If you've ever looked across the Grand Canyon, field of vision is nothing. The static image is a problem, but not if you can force perspective and make someone sit still.

and it's gone.

A real window in the daytime is a primary light source and would be filling that dark little room with light, casting shadows, etc.

2013-09-04 07:26:05 PM
Those actors were really blowing their lines, too. It sounded like complete gibberish.

I dunno, there were copies of some guy talking about sticking it to patent trolls floating around last year.  Looked like his mother dressed him.
At least this link had the dignity to be removed.

That's why it's the worst, only a few got to view it before it was taken down.

2 things:

1) As a stereoblind person (who is now starting to get ghosting in my dominant left eye making it completely freaking useless), parallax and FOV aren't all that.  They're pretty much all I have for depth perception (along with shadows, 20 years of experience, and tricks like "Yeah, a car is about the same height as a person, so that really tiny SUV is probably further away" and "buildings usually have right angles"), and they're honestly not all that good, especially over large distances where parallax is functionally 0.  I can totally get fooled by forced perspective in real life.

2) This.  Totally this.  I would've completely ignored it during a job interview in favor of the person interviewing me and getting stressed over the massive amounts of stress-induced sweat I was giving off (And if that sounds like a vicious cycle, yes, yes, it was).

Yeah, because that is what you are aware of when you are nervous about being interviewed and getting a job, focusing your view out the window.

2013-09-05 04:30:55 PM
Was the job for people who don't understand parallax, field of view, or basic physics?
