Forget about this unnecessary reboot and focus on getting a Booster Gold flick into production, Sam. You'd be perfect as the titular egomaniac.

Then why call it Poltergeist?  Oh, right.  Because you think that helps your movie.

It doesn't.

I'm torn on this because this is a movie that doesn't need to be remade, but on the other hand Sam Rockwell can do no wrong.

I love Booster Gold and I love Rockwell but I don't see them together. Hold on....nope. Can't see it.

/However, if they ever did get a movie done, I want Billy West to remain as Skeet's voice like in the cartoons.

Well, I can see it, but we'll agree to disagree.

I DO agree with having West continue to voice Skeet, though. ;)

Okey No.

Let me list the criteria Hollywood should follow for a remake. At least 2 of the following should be in the criteria

1) It was in Black and White

2) Every one that was in it is dead

3) Everyone that saw it in a theater is dead

4) it was made at least 40 years ago

5) The original was so poorly made that the new one would be more true to the original story

Because it's going to be about a family having trouble with poltergeists, that's why.

Why is it that every time some remake or sequel of anything is mentioned, people immediately start complaining about it even when little is know about what it's going to be like?  That kind of negative mindset makes people more likely to hate it when it is released because you're prejudiced against it before you even see it and when you are so, you're more likely to notice the flaws and they're a bigger deal to you.

I liked him as Zaphod. In fact, I didn't see the opening credits and didn't realize it was him till about a half hour in. He is one of those actors that can be really attractive physically in one role (HGTTG) and repulsive in another (The Green Mile). Always watchable. Just my .02

Not a big fan of remakes in general, but I'll give this a go when it hits DirecTV or Netflix, because Sam Rockwell.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but since its inception Hollywood films have always primarily been adaptations of books & plays, remakes & sequels. There is literally no plausible way to argue this. So when people whine and cry and say things such as you did it's nothing short of hilarious.

Did I say "adaptation"? No I didn't.  Kinda destroys your point and makes you look like an idiot, doesn't it.  That, my friend, is actually hilarious.

There was another time when hollywood did make a lot of sequels and remakes.  This was the 20s to the 40s.  They had 3 versions of The Maltese Falcon within a decade, for example.  That wasn't great either but it was reasonable because the technology was changing so much that it actually made SENSE to do a remake for a decent story, because a decade later you could actually make an objectively better movie.

That's not how it is today.  And even so, the problem is far worse today.  There is VERY little that hollywood is turning out that is original.  Some is for sure, but you can't pretend that it isn't much less than in the past.
