I'm sure Obama doesn't lose a wink of sleep over any transgressions of the constitution.

2013-09-04 01:18:02 PM
Plus if you're going to call Bush an alcoholic in the article, be fair and call Obama a cokehead.

I'm glad  he feels bad about it. His Total Fark congregation does not.

Well, he currently hasn't made any jokes about looking for WMD under the couch.

2013-09-04 01:20:40 PM
So basically you submitted an article about how shiatty Bush was and copied the last line to take a shot at Obama?

Since when is a thinker about anything other than how to get a free hour out of the two hookers he just bought for Bill Maher?

Well, he hasn't gotten 5,000+ American military personnel killed over weapons that were not there.

I don't go around gratuitously shooting people and then brag about it in seedy space rangers' bars. I go around gratuitously shooting people, and I agonize about it afterwards to my girlfriend.

Hey, you know how I got my hands on that Vault Key? See, a few years back, Wilhelm and I paid a visit to your little friend Tannis. And we beat her for hours. We ripped it outta her broken fingers. But we let her live. Because that's what heroes do. They show mercy.

It's just bizarre to me.  GWM was a disinterested, arrogant bully and it wouldn't surprise me to find out he never actually read that "goddam piece of paper."

But Obama was a freakin' Constitutional Law prof. I really would expect just about anyone with that kind of experience to listen to the NSA folks describe their programs, and say, "hey guys, wait just a minute - the 4th Amendment would like a word with you."

People should be equally outraged by both Bush and Obama. Both have ignored the constitution and both have have killed countless of innocent of people.

Ok, let's try that on for size:

Nope, please pass the croutons.

Don't you think one's innocent people killed is higher than the other. I mean wasn't the count of innocent iraqi's killed somewhere between 300,000 and 600,000 during Bush, can you really tell me Obama is even close to these numbers?

I was disappointed in this as well.  Not surprised, but disappointed.  Getting a Constitutional Law  professor into the WH was our only real shot at getting things back on track.  Granted, Obama was the best option in a tremendously bad situation (twice), but he's far far away from a "good" POTUS.

The 00s were defined by terrorists becoming the new boogeyman to scare people out of thinking, and that trend continues to this day.  We were lost in the 90s without communism to keep us up at night afraid.  All that relative peace and prosperity was just awful.  We couldn't handle it.  We needed an enemy.  We needed a return to a simplistic, safe black-and-white view of the world.  Now, here we are.  Ain't it grand?

That's what happens when you keep killing your Emmanuel Goldsteins you need to find new ones and then you need new wars.  It's so tiring at times keeping up with this cycle.  Are we at war with Eastasia?

I like that answer, it's a great non-answer.  It allows you to be smug and superior without acknowledging how much worse one side is than the other.

True enough, but doesn't always seem we need an enemy, doesn't it always seem we are in some sort of armed conflict.  Now just relax and have a drink sweetie.

Why does the correct answer have to be democrats or republicans? That seems like a shiatty choice.

Because it's your only choice in this discussion, when another party comes to national office, you can have another choice.

You have a lot of work to do, especially since in a lot of states only republican or democrat are allowed on the ballot.

//Romney passed health care reform that required everyone buy insurance, assault weapons ban, spoke out against coal fired plants on the basis of global warming and raised taxes in Mass.

You have nothing to offer as far as a realistic choice. One way or another a choice is GOING to be made and your suggestion of "don't participate" is about as dumb as it gets. Now, you haven't come right out and said, "don't participate", but you might as well have since you can't offer any viable third party.

The correct answer is, pick the best from what you have available. If you expect perfection in a political candidate, you're a fool who will always be disappointed.
