(BBC)   Note to Chinese interrogators: That whole "forcing the suspect's head into a bucket of water to extract a confession" thing works WAY better if you remember to let him up for air once in a while   (bbc.co.uk) divider line 102

...And they go about the interrogation thing all wrong.  Why torture to extract information?  Offer me a torrid naked oil massage with Zhao Wei and I'll tell them anything they want...

So in order to root out corruption, they torture suspects to death to get forced/unreliable/false confessions and then cover things up if they accidentally murder the guy.  That's some fine police work there, Lou Dong.

This could be the plot to the saddest Keystone Cops film ever.

"He had many internal and external injuries after the 38 days [in detention]. Apart from the drowning exposed by the prosecution, he must have been tortured in other ways, and more people may have been involved"

Seems to me that if someone hasn't confessed after 38 days of torture, they're never going to.

Shop Wal-Mart fatties. And don't forget to pat yourself on the backs for being American, because America is the beacon of light and freedom the world over.

Henry Kissinger sold your children's future to the Chicom Conspiracy. Enjoy.

What are you guys talking about? Making someone thiink they're going to drown/threatening them with drowning TOTALLY isn't torture! It's enhanced interrogation!

2013-09-04 12:24:53 PM
I'm surprised this story ever saw the light of day.

Unlike the movies, harsh interrogation techniques end up giving more false information then reliable information.  unless you want a false confession.  Somehow sadist seem to always get results

The only useful thing torture dies is cow the proles.

The is especially true in China.  The only true crime is disrupting the "harmony" of society, no matter whether you are in the right or not.  This is why protestors tend ot get very harsh sentences whereas actual criminals, so long as they tearfully confess their guilt, and throw themselves on the mercy of the court get off with very light punishments

You have to kill one every once in awhile so the other ones know you are willing to do it. It's fear of torture that gets results, not the actual torture. The occasional corpse just enhances your threat.
Drag some industrial accident guy off the street and make look like you cut his balls/fingers/feet off or spooned his eyes out and show him to the guy getting interrogated. He'll talk. Also, shooting a corpse (you've seen it in the movies) works well IF you can sell life a moment before the head gets blown off.
China, you are doing it right.
Also, you are damned.

Oh, don't worry. I'm confident he knows Kissinger is Jewish.

I know it sucks and is all very sad, but this line amused me:

FTFA:"a document recording the coroner's appraisal of Mr Yu's death said the official died after inhaling fluids that caused his lungs to malfunction."

It's like someone asked the coroner how he died and he's all "uh...he drowned".  And they're like, can you go into details, please?  and he, feeling like being a dick now, is like "after inhaling fluids, his lungs malfunctioned"

The split personality of fark never ceases to amaze me. 95% of farkers think that some sort of utopia can be created with some kind of mix of capitalism and very strong central government with the power to monitor every aspect of everyone's life and dictate what is "good" or "not good" for everyone not matter what. Yet the very best example of this is in fact China. So what do you progressives want that is different than China? It would seem that this is exactly the model that most farkers want. China is a much better example of what socialism would look like in a heavily populated diverse country than the other utopias brought up by farkers like the Netherlands which are very small very heterogeneous countries and their policies cant really be scaled up very well and beyond that aren't as perfect as farkers like to believe anyway. Someone please educate me on how progressive ideas can be implemented on a large scale and not end up with China?

Then why do you Red State fatties fund the Chinese Communist and lick the boots of their un-American business partners? Talk about a split personality, nothing like counting the Obama Is Socialist stickers on vehicles in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
