Somehow I read that headline as "Elf drunk off of fermented apples blocks Swedish man from entering his home."

Damn teenagers always spraying moose attractant on that statue.

I wonder if anyone has used moose attractant used to murder a person.

A moose shows up thinking he's going to get some but no there's just some dumb human standing there, stomping time!

Actually, Swedes and Norwegians call moose elk, so when Stockholm police talk about elk attacks, they probably ARE moose attacks.

/and then kan be realli nasti

It's more widespread than that; the original English word "Elk" does mean moose (Alces alces) and has been borrowed into all European languages.  "Moose" is from Algonquin and the word is exclusive to North America.

It just confused things further when early North American immigrants calling the native species of really large deer "elk" (Cervus canadensis) because they looked like smaller versions of the European elk/moose.

Or to make it really simple, in Europe "Elk" means "Moose" and they don't really have a word for what people in North America call "Elk".  Except "Wapiti" and nobody seems to know that word.

Annnnyway, I have a hard time believing these "drunk moose" stories.  Moose are goddamned enormous.  I'd expect it should take several litres of vodka to get one hammered and I just don't see a hundred fizzy 1% alky apples as doing that.

For some reason, Swedish elks can't handle their alcohol:) There's usually a few news stories per year with aggressive cases. More common is that people find them sleeping/passed out around their trees. But yeah i also find it weird that they are able to get any buzz considering their weight, probably sensitive for some reason. Like some asians=)))
