Don't EVER point a gun at police unless you're ready to be dead.

Before you freak completely out. Isn't  a likely explanation that he's the stepfather.

Entering into another's argument is like grabbing a passing dog by the ears.

Don't EVER point a gun at be near police unless you're ready to be dead.

FIFY

Unless there's video, I do not for a moment believe the cops version. More likely,
cop 1 shouted "Don't move",
Cop 2 shouted "Get on the farking ground now a--hole".

Guy couldn't possibly comply with both, so they emptied their mags.

Sexton is the fourth person shot and killed by St. Petersburg Police this year, Proffitt said.

Luckily, he turned out to be a drug dealer.

Yeah, it seems as if we lost a real pillar of society there...

"Sexton's girlfriend and their 10-year-old son"

Nope.   Note that the age of the mother is not given.

Or it's just her son and the article is poorly worded.

See how it works right.

1) Get into argument with neighbor
2) get cops called,
3) pull gun on cops
4) Proffitt.

I think it's time we had a serious discussion in this country about dog control.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, 10 yro Josh Wallace stated he watched his father pull the gun half way out of his pants when the officers fired.  The kid has his mom's last name, but both grandpa and the kid say Ronald was the dad.  The article also has a pic of the kid with grandpa.  I don't agree with the grandpa that the officers should've waited longer, because everyone should understand you don't just pull a weapon in front of officers even if you don't plan to use it.  You just tell them about it and they will take it out for you.

St PetePatch has the pic of his gun.  It appears to be a Glock and I'm shocked they didn't call it that.

Or he had abstinence-only in lieu of actual sex education.

"Sexton began to comply with their instructions, but then suddenly pulled a black semi-automatic handgun from his pants pocket and pointed it at one of the patrol officers, removed the gun from his waistband to toss it away as ordered to by police, who then promptly forgot they told him to do that because they realised they all needed paid vacation" according to a news release from the St. Petersburg Police Department.  "

Or like when they shoot you for doing exactly what they tell you to do

I don't give a flying fark if he was / wasn't a "pillar of society". Without proof backing the liars in blue I don't believe their story. If you're implying you only support someone who is a "pillar of society" why the fark are you supporting cops?

Sexton is from Tallahassee and has never been arrested in Florida, records show. He worked for a concrete business, David Wallace said, and had recently decided to get his commercial driver's license in order to get a better-paying job driving trucks.

When your cable goes out on a long weekend, you throw a party.
When you throw a party, you get drunk.
When you get drunk, you forget to do things.
When you forget to do things, your dog ends up outside at 1 AM.
When your dog is outside at 1 AM it barks.... a lot.
When your dog barks a lot, your neighbor comes over to complain.
When your neighbor comes over to complain, you answer the door holding a gun.
When you answer the door holding a gun, the police get involved.
And when the police get involved, you get shot dead.
Don't get shot dead. Switch to an antenna and dump your shiatty cable.
