Kim Jong Un enjoys an approval rating among North Korean voters of more than 50%, the latest poll shows. That's close to Shinzo Abe territory, easily above's 45%.

North Korean voters?

Maybe it's a band name.

/Pyongyang Style.

The way they close off the media and brainwash their people in NK I'm surprised it isn't closer to 100%.

If you're heading to a North Korean voting booth to cast a ballot against Kim Jong Un you're not making it for two metallurgical reasons: either your giant iron balls won't fit through the door or you've already been filled with so much lead they have to bury you where you fell.

If I was in Best Korea and someone asked me what I thought of the Kims  I would profess my love for them in the most sincere tone I could conjure up.

Even the North Koreans understand moving toward socialism is a bad idea.

Maybe Obama should execute his girlfriend too.

PICKLED PRUNES HAVE A HIGHER APPROVAL RATING THAN FARTNAMBLA AMIRITE

Speaking of Kim and Rodman.  I just saw the news footage of him climbing off the plane with a huge smile on his face, arriving for his next visit with his "good friend".

Does this guy know that Kim just executed a bunch of entertainers with machine guns?  In front of their families?  Then incarcarated the families for a life of hard labor for "guilt by association"?

If Rodman wasn't an outragous douche before this, he certainly has upped the level to a collosal degree now.

Not to mention intimidating the populace. I actually find it encouraging that some 50% of the populace was actually willing to admit not being satisfied with him.

And since the Wall Street Journal has been bought out by Rupert Murdoch, I believe this as much as I believe that the sun rises in the west.

First off, it's the Wall Street Journal, which means that anyone with a brain should take everything they have to say about politics with a grain of salt the size of an iceberg. (By which I mean, don't believe a goddamned thing they say about politics. Look who owns it.)

Second, we're talking about a country that has an actual cult of personality around their Dear Leader and regularly executes people with mildly dissenting opinions. This is also the same country that thinks Dennis Rodman is a heroic figure and barely has mobile phone service for a tiny percentage of people. You know why all the video footage coming out of Best Korea is in black and white? Because that country sucked the color out of life itself.*

*Not my bit, but modified because I can't remember the exact wording the originator used.

The thing I was getting at with the second point is that the "poll" numbers are being manipulated by the Best Korean government. If they claimed that approval ratings for King Jung Un were anywhere north of 75%, people would be crying foul. Of course, the WSJ could be manipulating poll numbers to make people think "He's a leader of a soshuilst country, so if his poll numbers are that bad, soshulism must be bad too. Impeach Obummer!"

And to think we all thought he couldn't get lower than Double Team.

It's easy to have a high approval rating when you can kill those who don't approve.

2013-09-03 10:01:21 AM
Considering people who vote against him are probably sent to labor camps where they are worked to death, that's pretty low.  Anything under 90% under those conditions should be considered humiliating.

Isn't this his first election?  I expect his approval rating to climb to and stay in the high 300%s after he's reelected.

Yeah. "Brain washing" was a poor choice of words on my part. They aren't brainwashed, they just act like they are so they and their families aren't imprisoned or killed in the dead of night. Talk about a regime we should overthrow if we insist on being the World Police.

Umm....how does asking defectors for their best guess on how many people like Kim back home constitute conducting a Poll? (Well, if you're Scott Rasmussen, maybe.)

Nate Silver's head would asplode.

Honestly. I mean, Saddam Hussein had a 98% aaproval rzting and he wasn't the god-king of a hermit kingdom.

Thanks, Rodman!

Uhh... yeah?  I thought brutal dictators generally had high approval ratings.  Because I expect the poll questions to look something like this:

Please indicate which best describes you:

__ I fully support Dear Leader in all things.

__ I enjoy reminiscing about what having testicles was like before they were mounted on the wall next to my oldest son's tongue and my wife's face.

Not gonna get many negative responses to that one.

2013-09-03 11:58:09 AM
And the 49% that disapproved will not be around for the next poll.

Dictators are always popular with their peasants.....or else.

Are you kidding?  Kim Jong-Un is descended from gods i.e. his grandfather and father. The sun rises and the Korean people are fed (or not fed) by the holy grace of the Kims.

Obama?  He's an illegal secret Kenyan Muslim.  No contest.

Here's the good thing: I was thinking to myself that there was not anyone less credible than American pollsters and you know what? There is!
