Well, at least they didn't directly copy the reaction shots I used for my Trolololo Star Trek mashup.

They could have used better sound editing and the last bit, while funny, was jarring considering the Enterprise used.

That was actually pretty good.

Eh, only because you already knew what it was from. It was all exploded, you couldn't tell which model it was.

Apart from some repairs and refits during the first two films, it was the same model. NCC-1701-A was revealed at the end of Star Trek IV.

I think we have found a very worthy successor to the completely-worn-out "Hitler Finds Out" meme.

Come on video editor geeks!  Let's see the Enterprise Crew react to everything from TV evangelists to horrible football game finales and vomit-inducing cute puppies.

I'm counting on you!!!

bullshiat...  A true trekkie could identify the remains of a constitution refit class ship from just half a nacelle... BIATCH!

Irrelevant...  This video features 2 different ship classes...  A constitution class uss enterprise from the original series, and a constitution refit class uss enterprise from the movies.  It doesn't really matter whether you know that its the 1701 or the 1701-A, or any other damned constitution refit class that was ever in service.  The point still stands that the models are different and even a blind man could tell them apart.

OK.  I'm about to be a major nerd here.  Apologies in advance.

The two Enterprises shown are not different classes any more that these two Enterprises are:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:TaskForce_One.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USS_Enterprise_%28CVN-65%29.jpg

Those are the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise before and after it's 1979 refit that made significant structural changes.  (Note the different radar on top of the tower.)  It's still the same ship and the same class, but it had a very different look.

The same applies to the original Constitution class Enterprise of the TV series and the Constitution class refit of the movies.  Same ship.  Same class.  Different look due to upgraded engines, photon torpedo launchers, main deflector dish, etc.

Also, if you check Memory Alpha you'll see that the refits are, in fact, still considered Constitution class.

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Constitution_class

Nerd mode off!

/Back to my life, which I totally do have!
//And the video really was jarring since the bridge was clearly pre-refit and the exterior shot was obviously post-refit.
///Um ...  I don't really have a life, do I?  *sigh*

The point was that the bridge in the video didn't match the bridge of the ship that was blown up. Technically, same ship, but a Trekker should be offended by the disjointed editing.

That said, I caught hell in my mashup over some slight shifts in personnel from Trekkers in the comments section of my YouTube video, having made my edit from several season 3 episodes. I did try and get it consistent at least.

I'm with Kirk and friends on this one...that looked like one seriously farked up performance, and the song/singer in question sucks (though better than some, admittedly).

The bridge personnel didn't match up here, either. Still, it was amusing.

I know. And I agree. Which is why I said "And the video really was jarring since the bridge was clearly pre-refit and the exterior shot was obviously post-refit."

But I'm a Trekkie. (Note the use of the original term. I'm old enough to have used it before it became unfashionable and since I never took offense from it I never stopped using it.) According the Code of the Nerd I was required to comment on both the mixed graphics and the incorrect designation of the refit as a new class.

:)

And since I haven't yet, I suppose I should comment on the video itself. Well done! Would lol again!

Also, that was the first time I'd seen any of the Miley Cyus performance (I'd been intentionally avoiding it) and I must say that my actual real world reaction was nearly identical to the crew's reaction.

"WTF? Is this real? Does she think she's sexy? How can anyone take her seriously? This is going to be Britney Spears 2.0 isn't it? She's going to end up having a nervous breakdown."

A pity. She really does seem to be getting more and more bizarre every day.

I'm glad my introduction to that VMA footage came in this format, had I been stupid enough to actually watch the VMAs and had seen that absolute orgy of attention whoring I think my faith in humanity would have been broken.  Luckily the ending made me laugh and forget.  What a talented girl, bend over and shake her ass? What will she think of next? Crap now I remember it again.
