Weird day in the Pac-12 with the Beavers and Huskies both earning WTF results.

Griz rolled App st. setting up a huge game vs. NDSU in a couple weeks.

Here we go, folks.

Never look past a team that is playing in probably their only chance at playing on the national stage. And a few of those defeats were against very very good teams.

Me when I first noticed FBS-FCS games:  "That's cheap!  FBS and FCS teams shouldn't be playing each other!"

Me several years ago:  "Some of those teams are going to walk in expecting a cupcake and regret it."

Me now:  "Told ya."

Yeah as a Bose State fan I'm still kinda wtf, but I wish I could say I was shocked. I never had much faith in Southwick's ability to make the long ball which is a big part of what killed us. Huskies played a good game, but I hope they go on to lose every single game in their conference schedule, because that would be hilarious.

It's even more entertaining when you realize that these FBS teams are paying $400,000-$800,000 (generally) to the FCS teams to have the FCS teams come in and play.

Here's a better article with game wrap-ups.

The payment is so they don't have to do a return trip and can get the revenue of 7 home games a year instead of just 6.

True, but they're also trying to buy a guaranteed victory, it's fun when it blows up in their faces.

I'm just glad my Eagles didn't use the usual recipe of facing an offense that's kinda clueless and getting some lucky turnover bounces. Instead we just f*cking scored on every single drive our starting QB played (left one drive due to cramps - apparently he has a sickle cell trait that causes extreme dehydration). While missing our top two RBs. And having all our receivers but one basically being brand new. And with a soph QB.

/still upset that it's not our third consecutive win over a Pac-12 school, since we outplayed UW and WSU in the past two years, too
//also upset we didn't make the PAT to hang a fiftyburger on them
///proud alum though - go Eags!

Sort of - the only problem is that you can't beat too many of them as an FCS team or else they're going to stop sending you all the money...and FCS teams NEED those checks rolling in to keep the programs afloat.

/most teams lose money in the playoffs

At least until the power conferences create a new Division I, except for the Big Ten which will drop down to Division III.

Oregon State really shiat the bed. Fark them for letting that happen.

Wazzu was pretty close on beating Auburn. Two shiatty perimeter coverage plays. One of which the guy obviously stepped OB but....when in Alabama.

Wazzu plays like an FCS team...it would have counted.

I take a bit of issue with calling these two "upsets."  I mean, they only are purely by their designation.  USA and GSU have a combined nine seasons under their belts in any competition, let alone FBS.  Hell, GSU is still officially in transition to FBS this year.

And the Sun Belt is easily the worst FBS conference. Honestly probably on a par with the Big Sky or SoCon, and that's being charitable to the Sun Belt.

In this thread, we see that SEC fans are so miserable that they can't let fans of other teams enjoy their victories, since their teams are worthless, and all non-SEC football should just be cancelled.  It's impossible to enjoy games played by teams that aren't in the SEC.

Hey, let's cancel all college football, since Alabama would go 0-16 in the NFL.  That makes sense, too.

You saying you don't care is the biggest steamingpile in a long history of steamingpiles. Your entire existence revolves around talking shiat about Boise and Oregon. All the while your bulldogs choke year after year including now choking against one of the chokiest chokes who ever choked.

Exactly. I didn't even know it was possible for Clemson to win a big game early in the season.
