So if I understand the reasoning here...the radical Christians are upset because they can't strap a gay teen to a table and pray the gay outta them...? Did I read that right?

I'm sure the hordes of responsible Christians and right wingers will be here to denounce this.

Any second now.

I almost want to check myself into a mental institution after reading that. I'm afraid that crazy like that may be contagious.

With the bonus irony that said ban was taking NJ on the path to being Saudi Arabia, bastion of liberal homosexual tolerance.

The famous RINO Christie through his marxist apparatchik are conspiring to remove the rights of god fearing Christians to force torture upon their children who don't conform to superior Christian morals.

well, the "author" (and I use that term loosely here) did write this for the murrican stinker

Ugh, these people are so full of it. The law prohibits licensed mental health care providers from performing "conversion therapy". It doesn't prohibit anyone from praying away the gay to their heart's content, or from hanging out a shingle right next to the crystal healers and reiki masters to perform their faith healing. You can't get a pass to practice a licensed profession however you see fit just because your reasons are religious.

I'm a Christian/Republican and I think it's nuts.  Conversion therapy is junk science, and beyond that, is almost certainly harmful with no benefit.  Whether that's enough to ban it entirely is a legal argument that will probably reach the Supreme Court.

The rantings about "gay sex cults" are either outbursts of mental illness or cynical click-baiting.  Either way they're best ignored.

Maybe they should stop having gay kids. Have they ever even given thought to the fact that it's their genes that are making all these gay kids?  They should really look at themselves first.

I thought gay-by-nature was verboten in the far right wing circle jerk. Remember, these people believe that satan tempts their boys, congressmen and pastors to lust after the cock. You can't square that with genetics, so toss the science.

Okay, how about their genetics are sooo appealing to Satan that he can't keep his hands off their kids.  Satan doesn't bother other people's straight kids, but them? They made some ripe for Satan's tempting kids, and didn't even make them strong and bootstrappy enough to resist.  Is that crazy enough to work with their crazy?

Actually, the gay-by-choice idea is even worse than your genes have failed. What they are saying is that they failed as a parent and christian to instill their superior moral standards to their kid. The cognitive dissonance must really wrack their noodle.

There is a large amount of people in your party that think like that. You may not like it and you may deny it, but that's the way the Republican Party has gone.
