(Daily Mail)   I don't want to alarm anyone, but the Hubble just spotted the Doomsday Machine. NASA, now would be a good time to get that antimatter reactor working, just sayin   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 61

From the comments:
So this protostar may be eroded by radiation from overheated suns, and NOT a word about which Republican did this? Not a word about the horrors of fossil fuels. Evidently, we should not limit man's influence to mere earth, it is Universal. Trust me, the people who read this will still say that man has an influence on our planet, even with solar flares and volcanos erupting, the still blame humans for weather patterns. I think it is nice to see that temperatures change in places where there are no humans.

Not sure if serious, but I lol'd.

Starfleet captains are like children.
They want everything right now and they want it their way.
But the secret is to give them only what they need, not what they want.

How come Lore was seemingly able to communicate with the Crystalline Entity using regular subspace transmissions, but Data and Dr. Marr had to bust their asses to invent a complex method of communicating with it in a subsequent episode?

Lore warned the CE about communicating on open frequencies, and taught the CE how to buy burner phones at the local 7-11.

Yeah...wouldn't it be more accurate to state that they're keen to see what emerged? Considering that the object, at 4500LY from earth, is being observed as it was 4500 years ago, by now it's probably already come and gone.

/also still struggling with this physics article that claims nothing in the universe is actually moving farther apart, the space between objects is just getting wider. HOW THE FARK IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?

Well, that too. But i was more talking about the various life cycle of stars not exactly being quick.

A brief google says it's an estimated 100,000 years to go from proto-star to star, and they're all sitting there saying "aaany minute now".

Unless a sun's gravitational well is involved, then you can safely go to warp 27 without incident...
