It's my understanding that your brain synapses misfire and then reconnect, giving you the same feeling of where and when you were. You are one giant electric current filled with water, you know.

It's a glitch in the Matrix. It means they've changed something!

I have pretty strong reverse deja vu. I imagine something will happen and then it happens.

Deja Vu is the name of a strip club. What is the name of the feeling that you've never done this before, even though you know you have?

I do quite a lot of driving through areas I've never been and get that feeling I've been there before when a turn in the road looks just like a turn I'm familiar with. Sometimes I can picture the familiar scene and realize why I got that feeling. Other times I can't and just keep wondering if I had been through there before but just didn't remember.

You know that point at the party where it's real quiet and you said something real loud over the music like "SO I'M THINKING OF GETTING MY BALLS LAMINATED."

Preferred Shadowgate myself, but Deja Vu was still a fine game.

My thought on deja vu is that it is like the ♫"Oh! ye'll take the high road and. I'll take the low road, And I'll be in Scotland afore ye "♫ song. Where the stimulus takes two separate routes, one arrives first, and the second is redundant and gives the feeling of familiarity.

Watched this on youtube.  Came to Fark and saw this topic.  If that isn't deja vu, I don't know what is.

When I get deja vu it's really strange as I have actually seen and done what it was I am experiencing at that time. There is no secret sociobabble related to it, I've just simply seen and done things before and my brain remembers me doing it. Strangely I find that the lighting needs to be very similar.

2013-08-30 07:36:16 AM
I said it in the last deja-vu thread, but the first time I experienced it was amazing, then another guy experienced it a minute later about the very same thing. That was weird.

Deja Vu is the place down the street where some of my friends work.

2013-08-30 08:37:49 AM
I have the feeling I know that an event happened because I know I experienced it happen, but it turns out it never did happen.

Interesting group of theories.  I first experienced it when I was a kid, before I learned it was a common phenomena.  I can still remember how strange it seemed.

Time is just an illusion. We've known this since Einstein. Every once in a while the illusion breaks down. The end.

Maybe it is an experience you've dreamed or forgotten about. When something similar happens, your brain tries to reconstruct the memory, fails, and gives you the weird sensation of it having happened before because it is literally replacing the old and incomplete memory with the new one.

Remembering doing something is memory, not deja vu. Deja vu is the feeling that you have experienced something without ever having that experience.

It's the difference between "I feel like I've been here before" and "I have been here before."

We all know what Deja Vu really is... Its the Doctor changing the Timeline which causes us to feel like we lived the event already because we have but in another timeline. That is also why we feel we know someone though its the first time we have met them.
